What's best...a minutes silence or a minutes applause? 18:44 - Apr 28 with 5233 views | alwaysblackandwhite | I remember being at Anfield when Bill Shankly had just passed away; you could hear a pin drop when all of a sudden some morons started shouting abuse in the middle of it and all hell broke loose. There was riots after the game when fighting broke out all around the ground; I was driving my "Morris Brothers Of Swansea" mini bus when Liverpool fans surrounded us, it was scary as heck. Now, every time that a match has a minutes silence, I always fear that things like this could happen again. I'm in favour of applauding, what's your views?
What's best...a minutes silence or a minutes applause? on 07:08 - Apr 29 with 1458 views | karnataka | If Liverpool FC have requested that there is some sort of observance or recognition, then we should comply of course and do it with good grace. If they haven't, then I guess nothing happens but it's not for SCFC to do anything without their agreement.
What's best...a minutes silence or a minutes applause? on 08:05 - Apr 29 with 1429 views | Starsky | I was there and in complete contrast before the game, our fans started chanting "shankly Shankly" And I saw all the 3 sides of the stadium applaud us and join in. A moving moment in time, quickly forgotten when it kicked off a few minutes later. An amazing game though. Dai the Drop got very frustrated.

What's best...a minutes silence or a minutes applause? on 10:53 - Apr 29 with 1381 views | Gretsch | I think best is a minutes silence. Unfortunately you can't predict the idiots, and then the people making more noise telling them to shut up. So it's probably the applause that's most practical.

I agree, if Liverpool request a minutes silence, then I'll observe it with full respect, whether I agree with it or not. But!! there's no way on this earth that I'm going to sing "You'll never walk alone"

What's best...a minutes silence or a minutes applause? on 17:29 - Apr 29 with 1250 views | canhecatchit | Well if I remember rightly all of us queuing outside in the road were being corralled onto oneside of the road up against the wall by mPolice on horseback pushing and nearly trampling a few . The crush then was quite scary, it was the worst I had suffered, I couldn't breath that well as a thirteen year old. The crush was so bad that a wall collapsed on a people outside the turnstiles and they soon closed the doors on us. There were a lot of Swans fans, running up and down the road shouting Swansea and Come on City just before kick off making hell of a lot of noise. We were out there a while, some went back to their trains, cars and buses. Many of us managed to get in the Kop end, and it was 10 minutes before halftime I got in. As I got to somewhere I could see, there was a Swans Fan Leaning on thee Kop end fence from pitch side and shouting "come on you Bastards I will take the lot of you on " No doubt pissed out of his head, got covered in all sorts of liquid from what I saw. Spit, Urine and Beer. I even started jumping up and down when Bob scored :) My brother nudged me in the back and said shush LOL. But we were with some decent people, even showed us where to catch the bus from and what number bus to go to the train station. There was a bloke there, from Pentrechwyth on the bus and turned to ask us what stop to get off, anyone on here that person?

I agree wholeheartedly, nobody would ever disrupt any respect for the dead regardless of their opinion. But of course being subscribed to something aside that against your wishes is completely different. I don't care who ever walks alone or where. That's nothing to do with us.
