Rodgers? 15:06 - Sep 23 with 10997 views | londonlisa2001 | Seems to be a growing groundswell in the media today that Brendan is on his way out at Liverpool. So where next for him if Ancelotti does take over?
Rodgers? on 15:12 - Sep 23 with 7816 views | icecoldjack | I would like to know who signed all the players there because Rodgers seems to be doing the job with a certain amount of constraint up there. I'm not saying the guy is wonderful with money because we had a few misses to go along with the hits while he was here, ultimately the players signed at Liverpool haven't seemed to make a massive difference to their progression . They could have had Wilf for £19m but chose not to. They could probably have signed Ash for £10m They seemed to have passed up the chance of signing Ayew on a free. The transfer policy is the big dark cloud hanging over him but how much say does he really have i wonder.

I think with Bony and Ash that he was reluctant to sign any more Swans players - their fans wouldn't have put up with it (not 'big' enough). Ayew is an odd one though. Would seem to fit in with there moneyball philosophy perfectly. The amount of money they have spent is incredible when you look at their team. They look very ordinary for the cost.

Off the top of the swede: Benteke. Sturridge. Ibe - Possibly Coutinho Henderson Clyne Moreno

Interesting. I wouldn't choose Benteke over Gomis. Coutinho yes. Henderson no. Clyne yes. Moreno - not sure - think he blows a bit hot and cold.

We're not really competing for he same things though are we, so don't think that really matters in the context of their aspirations / budgets. I think our GK, Ash, Cork, maybe Ayew, Montero is as good as anything they have on his day, and I would choose Gomis over Benteke (not over Sturridge). Of course, that may be a very biased view, but it is my honest opinion based on what I've seen of them this season so far.

Nope. He can't have it both ways. He bigged himself up when he went there of how he set his own conditions, made them come to him by refusing to be interviewed and was in full control with no dof or equivalent. Anything that has happened since, including how long that situation pertained, if it ever existed, is down to him. He carries the can - or chan. He's just not good enough for that job. I'm not sure anyone could meet the hyped up expectations really. But if he's binned then he has failed, however he tries to blarney it up. At least he hasn't virtually mortally f*cked a club like Martinez did. Oddly Martinez maybe dodged the Liverpool bullet, thanks to Brenno.

Bloke is a t**t No doubt a chairman at someone like Sunderland Newcastle Hull etc (the ones who appoint managers on the managerial merry go round) will think it was BR who was responsible for making us great. it should matter, if you look at how much he has spent they should be leagues above us in terms of starting XI quality

For the starting 11, I reckon only Coutinho, Clyne, and a fit Sturridge would strengthen us significantly, and I'm not totally sold on Clyne in his primary role.. Benteek is way overrated and even Liverpool fans don't rate Moreno (defensively) on what they've seen. The money spent by that shower up there is scandalous.

Sorry - I misunderstood your post. I was trying to say that even if some of their players are better than ours, that shouldn't matter in an assessment of them since they should be so much better than us. We're saying the same thing !

On a side note, has Taylor won back the doubters who thought that he was finished at the club? When Franck Tabanou arrived I thought that he would immediately walk into the team (and I have the feeling that the Frenchman thought so as well).

He's a goner! But I won't jump on the 'fu** him' crew as he delivered us the premier league and kept us there. Should be remembered as one of our best managers ever, if not THE best to date. Yes we've progressed since then, but anyone who says a bad word against the man is a fool!

Same as me, I'm baffled by the ill feeling towards him, did a fantastic job here, and left us much better financially off than before he arrived, doesn't deserve some of the crap he gets on here
