Bartley, Fedrico, or Amat? 16:18 - Dec 5 with 4322 viewsmichumagic9

When all fit who's the better centre back. At the moment I think Kyle Bartley is the best on form and is fitting in perfectly, playing a role, providing height and strength and creating a nice partnership and combination with ash.

Bartley, Fedrico, or Amat? on 17:35 - Dec 5 by Edmundo

Bartley first choice now, Federico next then Amat.

Hopefully we can keep three with us.

It's a very difficult situation. A very healthy one, however, difficult.

GM will follow the old adage of not changing a winning team and not fixing something that ain't broken.

I read a lovely article on Amat when he signed for the Swans. He brought his entire family over with him in his determination to get everything right in order to make a success of himself in the PL. Players like that are worth their weight in gold and represent what the Swans are about. Now that he has had a taste of being a first team regular, with the previously mentioned desire I can't imagine him wanting to hang around too long waiting for his opportunity.

Fernandez, the same, don't know much about his personality, however he's an Argentinian world cup player, which says everything. Hanging around waiting for an opportunity?

At the moment the £8 mill spent on Fernandez doesn't look a great idea. I don't blame the club for doing it as, in particular Bartley was an unknown quantity. Now though with the benefit of hindsight, It's £8 mill that could have been spent elsewhere. One thing though, we'll probably make a mill or two if his stay with the Swans is shortlived. Arsenal (fans, directors, you name it) must look at the Swans and wonder what the fuc* is going on as they seem to have a continuous problem with recruiting centre halves. Wouldn't be surprised if they come in for any of our centre halves in Jan (Not Ash as I think that's run its course).

Credit where it's due, Bartley has taken this opportunity with both hands. I don't get to see many games but did go to the Villareal game and thought he looked awful and most worryingly didn't look comfortable on the ball which with the Swans as we all know is vital. I'm ashamed to say, that night after a few glasses of red I took part in that favourite sport on a Saturday night where the ingredients are : too much alcohol + the Swans lost and were crap = scape goat time.

That night I was a keyboard warrior in joining in the assassination of poor old Kyle. Delighted that I am being proved wrong.

Sorry Kyle!

Fede is the best of the three but I doubt it would have made any difference if he'd played today because Carroll would have owned him in the air. It's not his strength.

Fernandez then Williams then Amat then Bartley.

If Bartley is dropped for that defeat, Monk is a clown. He has been better than Ash in every game he has played. I'm not advocating dropping Ash and keep Bartley in before any of you fanboys start, but it will be harsh as f*ck to drop Bartley for FF to come back in. Pick on current form for me.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Villarreal? Didn't know his arse from his elbow, taken off early and bye bye

Yesterday just the same except not taken off. I am over here, Carroll is over there and the ball is in the net

Mind you he has been alright in some games. Just not that good

Monk may give Bartley a run out Sunday but I'd be surprised if we don't see Fernandez back in the starting XI before Christmas.

Swans win: X is great.
Swans lose: X is rubbish.

Got to laugh. Fede's always been my choice as Ash's partner, with Amat his cover and Bartley Ash's.

We didnt lose this game because an overworked defence was breached a couple of times though. An inability to keep the ball and giving it away in stupid positions due to a high press were much bigger factors.
