Newcastle Winger Spotted At Southampton Airport
Monday, 12th Aug 2024 15:46

Things had gone a little bit quiet on the Ryan Fraser front, but Saints fans will be gladdened to hear that the Wee Man was spotted at Southampton airport at the weekend prompting speculation that he is on the brink of a return to St Mary's

Newcastleworld up in the North East have picked up on a tweet from a Saints fan who bumped into Ryan Fraser at Southampton airport on Sunday.

The quote Southampton supporter Mitchell King from his X account as saying

“Must stress this was in departures with a plane back to Newcastle which I’m assuming he was on. He said to my dad when he saw him that he loved it here last season, and it’s here or no where. Make of that what you will.

“Update: Wee Man’s plane is leaving the airport. Am praying he’s been on the South Coast today finalising the move, but who knows.”

Russell Martin said a few weeks back about the situation.

"I think we're all hopeful that at some point that will happen but he's contracted to Newcastle, I think he would love to come back and we would love to keep him. Everyone wants him."

So let's hope that the Wee Man has been back down here to finalise his move, although I would suspect that Newcastle will more than likely not sanction the deal until after they host us on Saturday, rather than let him play in that game and put in a blinding performance to give Saints the points.

Don’t get too excited, it’s rumoured that he’s engaged to a local girl so travelling here would be perfectly natural. However, it would be great to see him back.

More importantly, ABK is off to Hoffenheim for a medical tomorrow according to reports after 12.8 million deal agreed. Hopefully this means we can bid properly now for Carvalho or O’Riley this week.

I have always said that Newcastle will release him to us after we have played them.

I like Fraser but I must be one of the few (or may be the only one) who doubts his ability to perform in a 90 minute game and at PL level. He was good at times, but there were moments when I forgot he was on the pitch. He was better as a sub.

I think the Carvalho boat has already sailed Colburn.

Perhaps they will play 30 mins each derbydog?

He's a reasonably decent player but not worth getting too excited about.

Hoping for a half decent GK if possible
