No Serious Bid For Schneiderlin
Monday, 29th Jun 2015 21:35

Despite numerous press reports that Morgan Schneiderlin was about to sign for Manchester United within hours it has now emerged that no serious bid has yet been lodged.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Saints have yet to receive a "serious" bid from Manchester United despite the fact that various news sources have been reporting that the transfer is within hours of being completed.

Such is the tipsy turvy world of football it appears that Schneiderlin's agent has already agreed terms with United but so far United have yet to make a serious offer.

Koeman has admitted that this is not surprising in a transfer deal but it is frustrating for Saints who appear resigned to losing Schneiderlin and must surely wish that United start to act with maturity and get serious rather than make derisory offers.

In an ideal world Saints would lay a strict deadline down and inform both United and Schneiderlin himself that should there be no significant offer on the table by then that looks like coming t a swift conclusion then then will not listen to any further offers in this transfer window.

That is of course pie in the sky in the modern game when it is all about clandestine deals don by agents followed by th buying club trying to get a deal done on the cheap because they have already effectively agreed things with the player and can use him to put pressure on his current club to sell.

From a Saints point of view the club want to move forward and build for next season, they cannot do this until Manchester United get serious.

Saints have plenty of money from last season they can plan with or without SCHNEIDERLIN. I hope he stays. Part of the problem with Unied is that they are acutely aware that handing large wads of cash to Saints might not be in their best interest, Koean knows how to spend far better than the likes of Rodgers

Posted on the Star site, not that it will clear moderation

But how can this be true, your apparently incompetent hacks have been saying this is a done deal for days now. Perhaps they should spend less time listening to their 'big' club friends and spend more time investigating their stories properly. Pathetic.

Morgan's not attracting the big clubs, seems like he everyone's second or third choice.
He's very steady does the simple stuff well and has that great pass completion stat.
But he's no Steven Gerrard is he? Does he bust his balls to win you a game? I don't think he dynamic enough. The times with 15-20 mins to go with Saints pushing for a goal I have watched him standing between the two centre backs with his hands on his hips astounds me.
A good player yes, maybe a move would be best for him to take his own game to the next level.

So if the Agent has already agreed a contract in sorts but we have not agreed a fee, is that not tapping up. I always thought the first phase was to agree a fee before any direct talks with the player/agent could happen. I know it's all muddy waters as to who talks to who contracts already agreed in principle before a fee. "Book em Danno".

Why would United be in a rush? The transfer window is open for ages yet, they are clearly keen on Schweinsteiger with Morgan as second choice.
Montechristo, do you seriously believe United see us as direct rivals?

Wouldn't it be funny if nobody bids for him.
