Saints Turn Attention To Italy Again For Lazio Winger
Tuesday, 12th Aug 2014 09:38

Saints are looking towards Serie A as they look to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes in a few weeks.

Saints are believed to be considering a bid for Senad Lulic the Bosnian left winger who is currently with Rome club Lazio.

At 28 and in the third year of his five year contract he would be available at a reasonable fee and with the ability to play not only left wing but left back as well would offer Ronald Koeman some flexibility not only in terms of the squad depth, but in the ability to change tactics and employ different formations etc.

Lulic joined Lazio in 2011 after five years in the Swiss league where he played for 3 clubs including Grasshoppers and Young Boys.

Internationally he has made 36 appearances for Bosnia.

the British core, will be the academy players, Forster, Bertrand, Redmond & Byram?

This is how it will be from now on, buy decent foreigners, who will use us as a stepping stone, but we get great service for one or two seasons then sell for a profit. At the same time bringing on our own British youngsters. Who we will then sell at a massive profit. Oiling the wheels of industry and giving us funds to buy bigger and better. Simples!
