As much as I loved the 2nd half today and the possible outcome of this FA Cup run. My thoughts turned to the national side. With the qualifiers starting next month, the likes of Connor Roberts, Dan James, Joe Rodon, Ben Woodburn., Ethan Ampadu, David Brooks. Harry Wilson, Tyler Roberts, Tom Lawrence, Joe Morrell along with the experience of Bale, Ramsey and Allen the future is looking bright. |

Just spoken to Mark Gower's aunt who lives close to me. I asked how he was and and she said he was well. He is currently working for Liverpool FC scouting Dutch players. He now lives back in Essex and is popping over to holland every weekend. I am always interested in what ex players get up to and the fact that there are so many jobs available for ex footballers even if not high profile ones. |

NORWICH SIGN OLIVEIRA Norwich have completed the signing of striker Nelson Oliveira from Benfica on a four-year deal. The 25-year-old has joined for an undisclosed fee and Canaries boss Alex Neil told the club website: "It’s a great signing for us because he’s a very good player technically. "He’ll be a creator of goals as well as a scorer of them. Having been at Benfica, there’s no questioning his quality and he’s played with some top players." |

I have just received my Spurs away ticket. I notice the face value was £37 but Swansea only charged £27. I remember the West Ham ticket was less too. Are the club subsidizing away tickets? If so, well done!!! |

| Forum Thread | Pundits claiming lack of goals at 20:15 8 Feb 2014
I am pretty tired of hearing Swansea have trouble scoring goals. I, like others have been frustrated by the way Swansea had been performing of late, but never felt at any time that we didnt have goals in us. It is true to say that we may have overplayed the ball in the last third but having just looked at the table we have scored more goals than any team in the bottom 10 as many as Newcastle and more than Tottenham!! Great win today, I enjoyed every GOAL!!!! |

I have asked him to post on here. They are very experienced travelling to Europe in modern times and often receive information from previous clubs that have travelled to particular locations. |

I have just spoken to an Arsenal friend who went last week. They stayed in a nice hotel near the marina area. They felt relatively safe in this area and didn't venture far from the sight of the hotel the night before the match. On match day they made their way to the docks area which has police/security there to ensure that no Napoli fans get in. There there are bars that you can drink and eat in before being taken by bus under guard to the ground. The bus journey should take 15 mins but they take you an awkward route as to not come across any of the home fans. You will not arrive before the game kicks off to again ensure no meetings of fans. After the game you will be kept in for an hour before being bused back to the port. There are taxis at the port that will then take you back to your respective hotels. Arsenal took 700 fans last week, all but 20/30 took the port option. Those who didn't were attacked. 7 are still in hospital(I don't know extent of injuries). Even those that took a taxi straight to the ground were attacked as there is only one drop off point and no Napoli fan will take a taxi to the game. On the next day no problems walking freely around the place. He encouraged me to go but urges that all Swansea fans take the "bussed in" option as otherwise the risk of attack is high. Apparently they won't just attack like minded fans, everyone is fair game!! |

We flew out yesterday and it's gutting to hear people are stranded. Are there others that have actually made it? All the best to all other travellers and we hope to see you tomorrow. |

Speakers at the forum were, John Conforth, Lee trundle, Adrian Forbes and Sir Huw. John was very entertaining and quite a few of his anecdotes of the past involved pub names as a reference points which probably said a lot about the team spirit and ethos at the time. Forbsey is an extremely intelligent man and came across very well. He spoke about the Bury game and willy's arrest! (Hilarious) He then spoke about some of the goals that he was asked as important goals he scored for the Swans. He then spoke about the connection and affection he, as other players have with Swansea fans. He made it quite clear, that although he had moved on and now employed by Norwich there was no hesitation for him to travel to be at the trust meeting. Trundle, is a jack through and through. You could just feel his enthusiasm for the club when he spoke. Was very funny - especially the Kenny jacket hotel room story. He said his favourite Swans goal was at the millennium v Carlisle, although the Yeovil goal did get mentioned but I think the streaker got mentioned more! Huw, what a man. Didn't shy away from any question and answered in my opinion as honestly as he could. Ince definite target. Uncomfortable spending sums of money like they did on Bony but it made business sense for the club, as a goal scorer and would be able to recoup money should he be sold. No tension/rift between him and Laudrup- Laudrup may be there for another year or two then he will be managing someone else. Huw has the future of the club to think about for years and therefore there will be a few disagreements along the way. I was very impressed with how professional Huw was and dealt well with quite a lot of negativity about food, ticket, facilities etc at the Liberty. A very good evening, and a big thank you to the speakers. |
