Another 45 minutes where I’m no closer to knowing what Madsen is meant to be good at. I’m relieved now when the bloke plays a successful ten yard pass under no pressure. It’ll get lost a bit amongst the various dire performances and defending but that was atrocious.
People who can’t just leave your house when it’s time to go. Endless faffing about, having a little chat with everyone and generally hovering so you can’t just clear up and relax.
Easy to say with hindsight but with such a quick turnaround of games this was probably one to mix it up a bit. There’s no pressing at all. Just letting them do what they want. The sort of game you need someone at 0-0 or 1-0 to let them know they’re there but we’ve been lovely and nice.
Playing quite similarly to Bristol City who we set up for in exactly the same way and clung on through mostly luck and some guts. You can’t play this way with Cook and Morrison out. It’s nuts. No presence up front when we do hoof it away either.
I assume that’s a record. Almost as statistically unlikely as the run at Forest. With Cook I’d have said today is the day. Saying that, Swansea fans online aren’t hugely confident.
He’s a meh manager no Prem team is likely to want any time soon unless he does something with a club like West Brom IMO. Would be one of the better lookers in West Bromwich too.
West Brom fans weren’t exactly delighted with Corberan but they’re a mystifyingly hard bunch to please. Coops Cooper feels the move there. Saint Marti would hold out for something better IMO as would Rohl.
Completely agree but I guess we just have to ‘trust the process’ with Madsen. I can’t see it working out but then he’s just not my sort of player. The cool kids on Twitter seem to think he’s doing ok but I can’t see it yet. The left-back situation was indeed a farce that will have to be remedied unless Larkeche is the grand plan.
Not going to get overexcited now we’re at the dizzy heights of 14th just as it was silly to overreact after half a dozen games. If we can be here in March knowing we aren’t going down and needing an unlikely but possible run to nab sixth that’ll do.
Weird player. Bet he looks good in training. The classic case of the kid who was comfortable playing in a big club’s academy for years too long rather than play adult football then looks soft and ineffective when starting to play adult football at about 23. Doubt he’ll be a professional footballer when he’s 30.
Absolutely keep Dunne. Proven good egg, covers two positions if required. Cook clearly doesn’t have a fitness issue given he plays every week but a lot depends on the planned style of play. He’ll be 34 on big money so if we’re playing the low block, cling to a clean sheet with our cold dead hands style as we are now it’s probably worth an extra year. If not, those wages are probably better spent elsewhere.
Colback absolutely not. He’s only rated highly when he’s not playing, which is often.
Struggling to remember a worse performance where we didn’t lose. There’s probably a flukey 1-0 win I’ve forgotten where we played as badly that I’ve blocked out of my memory. The famous Paul Hart 2-1 win (Bristol City also?) but from memory that wasn’t as tragic as the first hour in particular here.
Another very decent performance yesterday. They didn’t get much joy down their left and as ever he won the first contact on the rare balls we got into their box. Just a proper bloke to have in the team when you’re under the cosh.
I thought that at the time. Ball nowhere near the corner and maybe he wouldn’t have got there but I didn’t think it was one of those you just have to stare at and hope. Made up for it after.
