I agree scratchers - this has been coming for a while. The managed decline strategy adopted by KO is kicking in big style now. |

He may resign, just to save his career but I doubt it. Holloway said on more than one occasion that Oyston never pressed him for good results on the pitch. Football is just not on the Oyston agenda. The sad thing for us is that Clark going will not solve anything and we were down well before this latest humiliation. I see Standard Liège are doing pretty well!!!!! |

Tangent — I think it’s just a difference of opinion. I’m pretty sure that we both want the same outcome (the Oystons replaced with owners who have the Football Club at heart rather than a personal cash cow), we simply disagree on how best to “help that process along”. You clearly believe (as many others do) that an empty stadium will encourage the Oystons to move on, and poor results will help that process. I believe the opposite is true. I saw this in the late ‘70’s early ‘80’s (as you may have done too). Outrage at Alan Brown’s sacking and a slip down the leagues over the next 5/6 years was soon following by apathy and disinterest in the Club, both locally and Nationally. Within a decade we’d become a Club of the lower leagues and nobody cared about our fate, especially the media. The Footballing World looked down on us as a minnow; some of that legacy still remains. I know things were slightly different then, in addition to the issues of today we had football violence on the terraces to deal with, which kept many decent supporters away but there are similarities between the two eras. I believe the media are far less interested in a lower league poorly supported Club and what will help our plight against the Oystsons more than anything else is their constant exposure to the National Press, who unlike the spineless local outlets (the EG and Radio Lancs) aren’t scared to take the “family” on. Add this to my stubbornness that nobody, especially the Oystons, will stop me supporting the Club I’ve followed my entire life, then I have to say, in my case anyway, your point on the 2 year season tickets is way off mark. |

Want Pool to lose - no, never. This notion that a reduced crowd and poor results will speed up the removal of the Oystons is a fantasy in my opinion. They couldn't care less. As for getting rid of Clark, what for? I don't rate him at all but he's not the problem. |

Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside and former manager Sammy Lee have appeared in court to face allegations of perjury in relation to the £1million transfer of Gavin McCann. They were among nine defendants — including Bolton secretary Simon Marland, agent Jerome Anderson and former Bolton director of football Frank McParland (now at Brentford) - who appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning. The private prosecution has been brought by agent Tony McGill, who claims Bolton and Sports Entertainment Media (SEM) cut him out of the deal which saw McCann move to Bolton from Aston Villa in 2007. At this rate Bloomfield Road will be a Tesco Express and block of flats before Karl Oyston gets his bumps felt. |

I've followed Pool all my life and it's been anything but dull. But yes, I agree, the last couple of seasons have reached a new level. I wouldn't mind a bit of normality but have given up hope of getting any. |

| Forum Reply | Foolish to think Riga takes no blame at 20:17 16 Feb 2015
Will we ever get a straight story about the Riga debacle? I'm struggling to understand why Riga has never legally (as far as I know) challenged Oyston's outrageous allegations about him, and frankly if Karl Oyston declared the Earth to be round then I would join the flat earth society!! However, I simply don't blame Riga for any of it - and yes, that may be some over emotional bias on my part, but I do have some simple logic. First of all the cancer that has inflicted the Club was evident well before Jose Riga. Also, Oyston employed him and made a massive issue over the "change" - the so called revolution. He then spectacularly failed to back him and went on a grand sulk that would make a 10 year old blush. At then end of the day Oyston was supposed to have the best interests of the Club at heart (laughable I know) - Riga was just an "employee". Karl Oyston to blame then - 100%. |

Pete, we have very similar stories. My parents used to watch Pool home and away in the 50's, going to away games on their motorbike. Sadly Mum's now in a care home living in her own little world but blissfully unaware of how the O's are destroying her beloved Pool. I was (so they tell me) 18 months old when I went to my first game which would have been in 1963, like you my support is inherited and very much in the blood. I also fell for the Riga Revolution, to be honest I'm still seething about it. All my past suspicions about this odious family were laid bare with this cynical deception. It was never about the money and I would have happily paid full price if only we were a normal Club, with normal owners. The division that's growing between attending or not attending is the one thing, I believe, that will kill any chance of a united opposition to the Oystons. They will thrive on it. I think your late Mother's advice was "bob on". |

It was a privilege to stand with the demonstrators on Saturday, the passion on display for the Club we love is the only chink of light in this whole sad affair. Fellow supporters that I have spoken to are totally respectful of the individual's decision to attend (or not). I believe there is only division from the minority. There was passion in the ground too. Even though at times, you could kid yourself you were watching "Ollies never say die seasiders", the real issue was never forgotten and anti-Oyston chants prevailed (where I was stood anyway) - right through to the final whistle. I have it on good authority that a certain person plays on this supposed division of the fan base, by playing down the protest and implying that it's a minority that are unhappy. In my view, balanced protesting inside AND outside the ground is the thing that will most disprove his distorted view. Furthermore, with the exception of a few emotional outbursts on message boards, which is understandable given the serious nature of what we are dealing with - I don't believe there is much division at all. Nobody should feel ashamed of watching the team and it's very sad when people feel obliged to apologise for doing so. But in my view at least there's no need, together I'm sure we can get this family out of our Club. |

Curryman, you have to go with your heart mate, I will certainly miss your company at home games and I sincerely hope this mess is soon sorted out. However, I fear that it will take years to get them to leave. I’m as “revolted” in the way the Oystons are behaving as everyone else but I’ve never thought a boycott effects anyone but those being deprived of supporting their club. Yes, I know it no longer feels like our Club, Oyston FC and all that, but at the end of the day it is and we were here before the Oystons and will be here once they’ve bled the Club dry and gone. They have our money and don’t care about empty stadiums. They would like nothing more than sitting in a stadium with 5-600 happy clappers in the West with nobody giving them grief inside the stadium. It lets them off lightly and makes their life more comfortable not less. Atmosphere, big crowds and the footballing environment means nothing to them compared with making hassle free easy money. As you know being temporarily exiled I don’t get to all the games, but I’ve noticed it getting quieter and quieter as more and more protesters decide to boycott. I respect anyone’s view to stay away, and hope to see you soon, but I think it’s the wrong approach. Keep smiling mate, the Club needs supporters like you and always will. |

The Oystons have enough money to secure our position in the Championship but choose to spend the profits from the Club on their own ventures instead. Why on earth would VB put more money into the Club under these conditions. Yep - right now they won't sell, I think we all get that. But this dispels the Oyston myth that no one out there will buy the Club off them. The fans, united, just might be able to convince them to pack up and leave. We are after all the community in which they trade in, and it's not just football? Reason to celebrate, nope not really - but more optimistic, in my opinion yes. |

In life I'm a glass half full person, but with Pool it's always half empty, recently anyway! However, I take heart from these messages from Belokon. The latest rumour I had was that he simply wasn't interested in buying the Club, he clearly is. Another rumour was that he had no intention of further dialogue with Oyston because legal action was ongoing. This is clearly not the case. As he points out, you can't buy something that isn't for sale so his intention to open dialogue is a major step forward. I don't personally believe that Oyston can ever repair the relationship with the fans but if Belekon is still interested in the Club there is a chink of light in this nightmare of a tunnel. Of course it takes two to tango and knowing Oyston as we do he's vindictive enough to simply ignore him. It's up to the fans then to convince the Oystons to sell and support Belekon and his "other interested" parties to procure the Club. |
