I walk past and through the club car park 4 time a day when walking my dog since the new pitch has been installed I've not once seen the irrigation system on I've also popped in and spoke to the ground staff on several occasions and when I asked why the game was called off on Tuesday I was informed by the lads that the amount of rain and other types of perception that has fallen on the pitch and with it being soil based turf which holds water a lot longer meaning it takes more time to drain was one of the biggest reason so hopefully the rain will ease today and give the lads a reasonable chance of getting the game on for Saturday
I believe Huddersfield pitch is a desso pitch, which is between £900000 & £1million to install it will be interesting as another team in the northwest IE:-WIGAN had to returf there's last year due there pitch being like ours before and after the rugby started constantly breaking up and degrading
The pearl Street looked really rutted and big divets everywhere especially in the 18 yrd box I could see several big divets in the sandy end as well I was stood near the police box in main stand hopefully the ground staff can work miracles
Been walking the dog over near the ground and egg chasers were playing a friendly had a little look on and to be honest I feel so sorry for our groundstaff after all the cold weather and all the rain over night the pitch doesn't look good it's cutting up really bad and I think the manager will be pissed off too by the looks and if there's any really heavy rain this week and it could be 50/50 for Saturdays game IMO the egg chasers have/are doing a lot of damage
