Might seem harsh I agree, but anyone who can try to compare the two challenges can't have seen them both.

Match thread on 13:47 - Oct 10 with 1361 views | aleanddale | ah 4 trialists who currently have no club!! the shakers fears are all unfounded!! all will be all right now!!. 15 more games until any signings of note can be made and that takes bURY past matchday 24. Thats over half way into the season and the way the performed last night they could easily be cut adrift by then. are there 4 worse teams in league1 ?? i doubt it.

I had an excellent view of last nights challenge (from the Main Stand, where I could see everything) It was a stupid challenge from Curren, who had lost the ball due to a poor first touch, and one that in my opinion, he should not have even gone for, as the ball was too near the keeper. He went in feet first, but appeared to slip somewhat, making contact inevitable, if unintentional. The ref had little choice other than to send him off. Nearly everyone near me agreed with the decision, but were slightly confused that one or two bury players escaped a caution or worse for their attack on Curren, who they pinned to the floor. The reaction of bury's players was very poor...especially Carson who over-reacted badly. However, he could have been seriously hurt in what was a stupid challenge. it wasn't as bad as the Lee Hughes challenge last season, which I saw, but I can understand the comparison.

I was no more than 20 feet from the challenge in line with it in the Sandy and Curran did not go in 2 footed, clumsy yes, silly also, but not malicious in any way with no studs showing.

Trouble is... what he did is enough to get a red card. As I said... there was no need to even make the challenge, and once he committed to it, there was only one option open to the ref.

As I said in an earlier post, the only positive to come out of it is that it wasn't Grimes, the way things are with injuries and suspensions at the moment that would have been hard to take. My anger last night was down to the disgraceful antics of the keeper and defenders, disgusting behaviour.

The challenge was most probably out of total frustration at his useless 1st touch. He should have had a virtually open net - instead he gave it to the keeper.

I think there has been very few posts if any saying that the ref made a mistake in sending him off. The concern is of a goalkeeper who is lying prostrate due to injury one moment, then kicking the ball with that same leg 30 seconds later, with not one conversation taking place as to whether he was fit enough to take the kick. They knew because the injury was feigned. None of which had any impact on the eventual outcome. Unless Curran had decided to go in that bit harder, and we could have relied on the ever reliable Mr Belford for the spot kicks.

This. The comparison drawn was a late challenge on the keeper, will always put you in trouble. Studds, no studds / contact, no contact! Yours, A.Clown

They are thick as 2 short planks. I overheard one conversation from a very excited shaker on Tuesday night, it went something like >> well if we can repeat this win on Saturday 3 points will be a real boost, we will be up and running. Errrr No. the game finished 1-1 - that would earn you a credible point*. *unless bury are hoping to sort out all league draws with penalty shoot outs now!!
