Well thats the crux of the matter isnt it really, I have probably heard the same version as you and if its true then the captain was 100% right to react as he did. This incident as set the alarms bell ringing for me regarding the management team, lets not forget this is also Jonahs benefit season and we as fans have been contributing financially by attending functions etc to honour his service to the club.
The fans are treated like mugs by this club and as a life long supporter i am quickly becoming dissilusioned with the arrogance shown by everybody connected to the club, lets have a proper statement regarding what happened last week because if its as serious as suggested by a lot of fans then a proper investigation needs to take place and disciplinary action needs taking against the right person.
To just take the managers word and sweep everything under the carpet is setting a dangerous precedent at the club and will only result in more incidents occuring.
To completley drop the captain from the squad amid terrible speculation and then insult the fans by not even giving a reasonable explanation is bound to cause unrest among the fans, i take it Jonahs benefit season as now come to a shuddering halt ?
This club seems to be rapidly moving from a respected professional football club to a amatuerish laughing stock and its about time the Chaiman and directors got a grip of the situation. This rant isnt about Jonah not being in the starting eleven because he has been just as responsible as the other players for the seasons demise, its about the whole general demeanour of the club.
We have two new kits which we need to sell, there is no consultation with the fans and the only place they are advertised is in the club programme,its a joke.
Is the club just being used as a Saturday club for the Chairman and directors ? I ask that question because they dont seem at all interested in the day to day functions of the club.
As a fan i am getting sick to the back teeth of keep forking out money hand over fist to keep the club running whilst persons employed by the club just sit there in their own little comfort zone, these people are laughing at us, they must think we are mugs !! Lets remember its us as fans who are paying their wages and for the last 5 years how much potential income has passed us by ?
The Chairman needs to employ a troubleshooter and set all the staff targets, give them all 6 month appraisals and if they cant come up to standard then replace them with persons more competent.
A couple of weeks ago i purchased two new season tickets, the dishevelled, disinterested female (who is the face of the club to any visitors to reception) who served me didnt once make eye contact, she huffed and puffed her way around the office and then slapped the tickets on the counter, it was such a effort for her and i payed nearly 500 quid for the pleasure.
If there is no improvement in the overall running of the club next season i wont be renewing my season tickets and i mean that !! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

I think it was Dunphy who brokered the Jones deal, with SE acting as the front man.
The club had just lost it's complete backroom staff (apart from Beech & Ellis whom Hill didn't rate good enough to take)
We had also lost Dawson, Wiseman & Done.
The last thing the Board wanted fans to see was the captain leaving us as well. |
Sorry but i dont agree about the losing the captain bit.
They should have ofered him 12months with the option of 12months agreeable by both parties

There are three or four elements of the last few days which would, in a normal business, lead to separate internal disciplinary investigations being run, with relevant action taken accordingly for any accusation proven (subject to appeal via relevant HR process)
I don't know if the people involved and those who would end up conducting the investigations are aware of a) the incident(s), b) the evidence c) the understanding of the consequences but It isn't the first time that confidential club information has been presented in this forum. This leak is the first one I've seen concerning the current manager but there have been others from the Eyre/Beech tenures.
The Directors must take a very firm line against anything which damages the clubs business.

If you really that badly and i agree with you, take them back ask for a refund and expalin why you are taking them back( but ask for the man which is CD not the bimbo in the ticket office)..

As a customer you shouldnt have to do that though should you ? The manager of the office should be able to identify the problem when it comes to customer relations, there have been enough incidents over the years. I dont expect any special treatment just the type of service (smile and perhaps the odd word) you would get if you had just purchased a new suit for a similar amount or maybe booked a holiday at a travel agents.
Anyway, the front office is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to treatment of the fans. The funny thing is we all put up with it when there are plenty other bigger clubs within spitting distance who would welcome us and our money with open arms !! |  | | |

Unfortunately this messageboard does not appear to be taken seriously as somewhere where fans' (customers) opinions can be analysed for the benefit of the club.
There is a perception it's a load of personal grudges, of course that's far from the truth as the majority of us have no interest in who us doing a particular job, as long as they're doing it well.
