January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts 11:08 - Jan 3 with 5011 views | CrashBandicoot | Apologies if there is a transfer thread I'm opening a thread for the January transfer window which has now opened. Who should be a potential signing for us and who should move on either via loan or permanently? I've heard Kyrell Lisbie & Gus Scott Morriss mentioned as potential targets but could they potentially make the jump from NL to L2? Some players do but others don't. Plus actual transfers that we bring in & out can also be mentioned here.

0 goals in 9 appearances for Luton this season but he did way better when playing for us & Lincoln. Perhaps its time for us to try him again to rediscover his form.

how many starts and minutes on the pitch though??? Think we should put the Joe Taylor thing to bed now as we have as much chance of signing him as Hopper scoring! Ok, a slim chance but VERY, VERY unlikely! Need to concentrate on another Taylor that is nursing an injury that has scored 7 in 20 league appearances for The U's!

Joe is not wanted at Luton he hardly gets a kick these days, I think he will leave either on loan or a full transfer in this window but he will be expensive. Lincoln enquired in the Summer but said he was way out of their league both in terms of salary and transfer fee. Lincoln reckoned they would need a cash injection of £3-5 million to sign him! According to transfermarkt he's worth £350k so Luton would never get anything like that sort of transfer figure for him. As that is the sort money a championship club would pay in a transfer fee and no club in that league would pay that for a striker who has scored no goals in a season. And if he is released as may be the case depending on how long his contract has left to run then I imagine he would likely leave on a free. Then its just the wages to be sorted and agreed depending on who goes for him. Agreed its unlikely he would join us but sometimes players have to go down 1 or 2 leagues to find their true level. I do agree however that we need LT back sooner rather than later though as he is a much more reliable goal scorer than Hopper could ever dream to be.

Crash Sadly the prospect of Taylor and Taylor spearheading our attack is slim at best. Huddersfield were keen to sign him but I do not understand why he is being treated so shabbily by Luton A total waste of a talented young footballer.

13 appearances in all competitions for a combined total of 145 minutes, or an average per game of about 11 minutes. He’s not going to score many (any?) with those opportunities.

Some of their fans say it is a personality clash between him and the manager, I think Joe is quite outspoken in the dressing room, they are struggling at present and Joe is seen as a disruptive influence. Make of that what you will, mind you the way things are going Edwards could be gone soon!

Transfer market is a load of rubbish I wouldn’t take any notice of their valuations. I think the bottom end of the Lincoln estimate is nearer the truth when you take into account salary etc over 2-3 seasons. Like always if it goes to a price war between competing championship teams the final price with add ons etc could well be around £3 million.
January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 12:35 - Jan 7 with 651 views | CrashBandicoot | OK forgetting JT though I think the rest of the Luton team are probably unsettled too with their current position considering they were in the PL last season. Who could potentially be a good fit for our team that we can likely afford?

His loan back in 2017 didn't really work out, but how about Nicke Kabamba at Barnet - scoring plenty in the National League. Already on 12 in all competitions this season, scored 32 and 19 in the previous two seasons. Would he be tempted though, given Barnet are in the hunt for automatic promotion?

January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 13:51 - Jan 7 with 600 views | burnsieespana | Dare we go to the National League and sign Lisbie from Braintree? No doubt a fee would be required but we might be able to loan them somebody like Greenidge plus plenty of Colchester connections.. I wonder what Chay Cooper thoughts are as could well have now been a regular with us.

January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 10:29 - Jan 6 by TheOldOakTree | Talking of Carlisle, and as an indication of how other teams are looking to avoid the drop, the Cumbrians have already made three signings in this window and they are giving out two and a half and three and a half year contracts. With our way of doing things, it's hardly suprising that we run the risk of ending up with the scraps. |
Make that 4 new signings, another one arrived today from Sheffield Wednesday!

I hope not - I've watched Braintree a few times and not once been impressed with Lisbie The possible one we should have taken a punt on is Ollie Pearce when he was at Worthing but now at York City. Could he be tempted to return south with us?
January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 19:42 - Jan 7 with 427 views | burnsieespana | See Leyton Orient have ended Moncur's l9an at Southend early as have another loan lined up which I assume means somebody else is prepared to pay more of his dalary. Played 16 times for Southend so martch fit. Normally am not in favour of going back but George always did well for us and whilst now not maybe Divn one maybe could still do a job for us?

Dundee are looking to take Aaron Donnelly to Dens Park on a permanent basis. More grim news.

We need to make an offer and sign him. Moncur has gone to Ebbsfleet so bit of a downgrade on Southend I would have thought. Going to ge a tough second half to the season and we may regret so many drawn games. [Post edited 7 Jan 22:44]

Sounds like Donnelly is as good as gone, Dundee wanted to sign him in the summer but couldn’t agree on a sell on clause. Now Ally Graham a young much sought after keeper is going to move to Forest from Dundee and Donnelly is moving to Dundee, it sounds like they have already done the recall.
