Team for Cardiff 15:08 - Nov 26 with 5823 views | sdm1508 | So do we think Marti will drop Celar as the fans are/have turned against him and his performances are not up to it (at the moment) or will he continue with him to try and give him sort of confidence? I like Lloyds energy but not sure he can last the 90 minutes like that and would he better coming on as a sub? If that is the case, who do we start with. I wouldn't mind seeing Kolli there. I know he seems to be a player who gets better by not playing in terms of people's perception of him but at least he will be a presence up front, can hold the ball up and give the defenders something to think about, or is there another option?
Team for Cardiff on 22:34 - Nov 26 with 1807 views | Jimboqpr | Not sure why we haven't tried playing someone like Lloyd alongside Celar a bit more to take the pressure and focus off him a bit. Celar clearly has no idea how to play as a lone striker role he's had enough goes at it now for everyone to see it, so something different has to be tried up there in my opinion. Some of his slightly better showings earlier in the season did seem to come when there was another striker closer to him.

Team for Cardiff on 22:52 - Nov 26 with 1714 views | sdm1508 | I think Dunne's form have dropped off a bit recently. With the injuries at the moment once JCS is fit I would be interested to see a back 3 of Cook, Morrison and JCS, maybe wing backs of Paal and Ashby, Varane and one other in midfield with a front 3 that has to include Saito and then whoever is available

I hope he goes with Lloyd. His energy and persistence may just get us a goal. I've seen Cellar so many times with us now and a few as a sub for Slovenia, and still haven't seen anything from him of note. No goals, no assists that I remember. Occasionally he has got into good positions, but failed to convert. Possibly a spell on the Bench will do him good, but hard to see it right now.
Team for Cardiff on 04:36 - Nov 27 with 1525 views | numptydumpty | Nardi Paal Cook Morrison Dunne Field Varane Morgan Madsen Celar Anderson SUBS to come on Lloyd for Celar Saito for Anderson Smyth for Madsen Ashby for Dunne Santos/EDB for Morgan All the subs with point to prove and all eager to put their case. Starting eleven need chances consistently to gain confidence do sensible to start with them. If it's clearly not working, make changes after 45 minutes, gives impression to starters they have chances but if they not up to it, put on the better players that perform as subs so thereby keeping all the squad engaged and motivated and team set up with big W in mind. #manmanagementmartiskills [Post edited 27 Nov 4:38]

I'm not sure about Anderson and Madsen in the same team. We lack pace at the best of times and with those two, it would be even worse. Personally I would have Saito and Smyth starting or worse case have Ashby playing wide right just because he has a bit of pace. He would also be able to help Dunne, who has looked a bit shaky recently | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I don't think Saito has anything to prove & has put his case for starting games. As our most creative outfield player available, why on earth would you leave him out of the team? He is also our only natural left sided wide player.
Team for Cardiff on 10:29 - Nov 27 with 1196 views | aston_hoop | Nardi Ashby Cook Morrison Paal Field Varane Morgan Kolli Saito Celar I'm dropping Dunne because I just dont think he is very good, Ashby is at least a natural right back. Also I don't think he's a bad player to say we've used him mostly out of position. Paal comes in obviously and et voila, balance! Cook and Morrison can continue to be the new Cook and JCS. Morgan for Madsen for a bit of energy, Kolli for Smyth to try something new. And this is probably why I'm not a football manager

Kolli won't start, Madsen probably carries on. Smyth off the bench for energy and spaffing his final ball every fkin time. WOOP!

Team for Cardiff on 11:01 - Nov 27 with 1103 views | mart_Goblin | I agree that Dunne isn’t playing well but I think we need his height in both boxes especially our own. He’s also ‘the’ out ball for Nardi as I don’t recall Celar winning 1 header all season. If Madsen imposed himself at all then maybe you could use him , give Dunne a rest and play Ashby . But he doesn’t so that won’t happen either so the team just picks itself as there are no options . Playing Dunne up front, dropping Saito , starting Madsen and Andersen together and some of the other stuff I’ve read on this thread are either pie in the sky, desperation or simply tried and went so badly wrong that surely that combination will never be seen again .
Team for Cardiff on 11:23 - Nov 27 with 1038 views | sixnil | I would start 4-4-1-1, so Celar has a ball winner near him. Think Saito and Smith could cope well with this and it's balanced. This could also be a diamond 4-4-2, if Cardiff don't play 5 in midfield. Nardi Ashby Morrison Cook Dunne Saito Field Varane Smith Madsen Celar
Team for Cardiff on 11:38 - Nov 27 with 1007 views | hubble | The dire run of results has left us fearing every game, but let's face it: Cardiff are not Brazil. They are eminently beatable, it just requires each individual player to put in a minimum 7/10 performance, which, criminally, hasn't happened since Luton away. Since it looks like Marti is going to stick with Celar until he finally scores, or hell freezes over - whichever comes first - it seems pointless to consider alternatives to him, so perhaps it's time to try two up front to start? Something like this: Nardi Dunne Cook Morrison Paal Smith Varane Field Saito Celar Lloyd Yeah, I know, clutching at straws... but like I say, Cardiff aren't exactly a side to be feared. Let's put 'em on the back foot. [Post edited 27 Nov 11:41]

Who is the ball winner you speak of? Surely not the same 6'4 Madsen who recently went a whole game without making a tackle and stands outside the box at set pieces?

If Marti really is going to stick with Celar (which I wouldn’t personally), that could be our best possible formation.
Team for Cardiff on 17:09 - Nov 27 with 681 views | BklynRanger | I'd go for: Nardi Dunne Cook Morrison Ashby/Paal Alfie Varane Field Saito Morgan Celar Try not to get over-run in midfield and hope something flies in off an outstretched limb. I'd be very surprised if he drops Celar, though I don't expect his limbs to be outstretched at any point.
