Vip made quite a few runs on sat but the ball never came his way, I know this because when i go to games i watch players off the ball, most people watch on a stream so dont see the whole picture, there is s big reason why he ismt gettimg rewarded for these runs, It's because we are slow at getting it forward, when we do hit long balls there is no support for the player chasing it, why? Because we are too afraid to go forward as we don't want to be caught out in defence and because williams wants us to keep the ball.

Until we realise that attack is the best form of defence then this will go on and on or until we get a couple more players in that can change the dynamic.

I think people need to temper their expectations of this kid. I can't deny I was reasonably excited at the prospect of getting a Slovenian international striker who's initial stats suggested he had goals in him.

But the facts are:

- He is only 22 so barely into his prime as a striker
- He has played 128 hours of professional football - sod all basically
- So far in his career he has a record of one goal in every 172 minutes played, so roughly a goal every other game - a pretty decent conversion rate...

For comparison, Cullen's record is a goal every 208 minutes (265 minutes in the Championship) and Piroe for us scored a goal every 173 minutes.

So far for us Zan has scored only one goal in 489 minutes of play which is clearly terrible, but in mitigation we know how hard it is to be a striker in this current Swansea team.

Frankly, Zan is a backup/"potential" striker at this level being asked to share the role of flagship striker with Cullen. He is clearly not a player who is going to hit the ground running and make an instant impact. This is fully on the owners and the management team.

I for one will be managing my expectations, hoping he develops well over the next couple of years, and getting behind him every time he plays.

All of this is bang on, except we don’t have the luxury of allowing him time to bed in. That’s 100% down to the owners. It’s not his fault but it’s the situation he’s in.

The one thing that can’t be excused is his fitness. Everything else - getting used to the pace and physicality of the championship, new teammates, new tactics, new language etc you can’t blame him for.

Absolutely correct
When Ineatch via stream,Insee our captain run BACK to collect the ball only to pass it fifty five degrees and then receive it back .
When this is going on, our strikers God help them, are or already have been marked .
We are so slow ,our movement off the ball is negligible .

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

The fitness thing is weird I agree - it's not like he was at home playing XBOX all summer either, he was with the Slovenia squad at EURO24 presumably training etc.

He looked knackered after the warm-up when I watched him at Coventry.

But then I am told by someone who played with him at Blackburn that Alan Shearer was the worst trainer, was rubbish at sprint and bleep test and had the lowest level of natural fitness in the entire squad...you never know!

I know this won't be popular, but recall Yates?

Hasn’t scored all season until Saturday, in fact only scored before that against a step 7 side on his debut in a friendly. That was 16 games ago.

It was the coach/system why he was so poor for us.

It’s not just one thing in isolation. Yes we are very slow getting the ball in the final third. Definitely a major factor.

I’m not sure it comes across as well on streams, but Vipotnik is constantly marked because he doesn’t make any effort not to be. When I stream the away games I barely notice him. At home it’s really obvious.

I said it on the weekend, we were even slower and more cautious under Russell Martin. Piroe still managed lots of goals.

That’s fair comment
It’s a crap show really isn’t it
If I were going to games ,I’d probably self combust
I was close to going to Blackburn but the thrill really has gone as it has for thousands
In contracts I note Wrexham too almost 2500 to Rotherham

Piroe was able to lose his marker and come short for the ball move half a yard and shoot, none of our forwards since have done this. How many of Piroes goals were scored with his head from crosses, very few. Sometimes we have to look at the player instead of continually blaming the system. Yates and Kuharevich have done virtually nothing while out on loan with other clubs and other systems. We should just accept that Williams has been dealt a duff hand by the owners. We shouldn't be hoping that a 19 year old Wilson will step up and answer our prayers, who incidentally I believe is also in the last year of his contract.

Piroe is a totally different player to vip and more to the point a higher class player.

People need to watch highlights of games from 2/3 years ago to realise how far we have regressed, we are shopping in bargain basement because our owners won't pay the going rate for half decent championship players, that's why we have players of vips standard and not piroes.

Don't disagree with what you say, but we signed Piroe and other players who we sold for a big profit for the same money we are paying out now. It's just that the recruitment side of the club has collapsed. The buy cheap sell high to keep the club ticking over has gone, who can we sell high now. Last season I would have said Ronald but he is in second season syndrome. Franco possibly if he keeps progressing, Eon if he gets over his injury and progresses, but there are a lot of ifs in there. Overall since Coleman has been chairman our recruitment has been terrible and we have wasted a lot of money we don't have.

The club is targeting young players of potential. They were not expecting world beater from day one. This is the job of the scouts who have seen something in their profile s that suggests a bit upside as they approach 24.

Cooper and Cabango seems to be improving at 24 but Cullen is not at 25. Eom Franco and Ronald look good. Vipi and Bianchini look lost.

It not promising that the architect of this has been sacked.

The drop in attendances has nothing to do with fans (in every town and city) who support other teams. Swansea isn’t any different to Cardiff. I posted you an actual stat of the many who travel from Newcastle to Liverpool and Man Utd, the thing is once you have a team, most generally stick to them for life, no matter where you live.

The issue at Swansea is the product, the results and the expense. Simple as that.

It’s just as cheap to travel from Swansea by supporters coach with any of the supporters clubs there who follow premier league teams.

When Phil and I ran the MAGS we had a close to 300 membership. We took at times two coaches to certain games, and we were in the bottom league then at times. The club hasn’t got the foresight, organisational skills nor the desire to ingratiate new supporters regardless of where they live.

Sending Lee along to schools locally isn’t going to work unless there’s a follow up and system to keep up the interest. I know one guy who took advantage of the ticket offe the other week, since then he hasn’t heard a thing.

& most games are now accessible via Sky Sports+ which is a much convenient option in a cost of living crisis (vs attending a match in person).

This approach is absolutely fine if you’ve already got a squad and you’re looking to bed them in slowly.

When you’re expecting them to go straight into the first team, particularly as the main source of goals, it’s a terrible strategy.

I’m very critical of Vipotnik, but I completely understand he’s been put in a difficult situation. He should be playing under 21 games and getting the odd cameo here and there.

How can you expect any kind on momentum when the player all your play goes through is sitting between the backs.
If you are expecting Grimes to sit deep because we are away from home surely Cooper cannot help Cullen in the high press it leaves a big gap in the midfield that Franco has to deal with, unless either the wingers tuck, it was pitiful to see us trying to press on our right hand side the opposition were just running rings around us, very bad execution of a playing style thankfully our back three, Cabango, Darling and Vigouroux are rising to the task not much can be said of the others, two of them could be gone in January.
