Based on his performances so far, Vigouroux might just be our best value acquisition in yonks. He's good at everything that goalkeepers need to be good at. Calm under the high ball, very strong at distribution and his shot stopping is all that you could want it to be.

I will confess to having been slightly nervous after one early game where he two-fisted punched a ball away that would have been easier to catch, but since then he's been basically immaculate. I have no problem in believing that he could do a job for a team a level higher.

Probably the biggest plus point of the Williams era so far.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I noticed on Saturday that where before our players would always look to pass to Grimes to dictate the play, now they are also looking for Franco. This now makes it much more difficult for the opposition to stifle our play.

Same thing happened early on in Patino's time here looking for midfield players other than Grime, was it took the pressure of him or was it a case of taking our play out of his control, Allen's inclusion also had the same effect and even Paterson or Ntcham at times.
Grimes movement while in possession of the ball seemed a lot more nimble getting him out of trick or tight situations although he then took and age to move the ball on, same could be said of a number players wanting too many touches with the ball while moving out of the defensive in their drives forward into the middle of the pitch , Tymon, Key and Cooper instead of letting the ball traverse the distance quicker into the channels runs being missed.

Franco is already a good player and one we can build a team around
We have a VG keeper , decent midfield if played right but zero up front
It's that simple

One of Winston's traits is an inability to comment on something I post without a subtle piece of invective
He's done this for 20 yrs
It's why he uses my former username that was banned by his mates on PS
It's to try to ridicule
Cowardly really
Pity we can't meet up
He agrees with what I post regarding GrimrsJust look

Back on topic , I comment as I see it
I have the confidence to stick my head about the parapet and deal with those who cannot discourse with respect
Most do so
You do so and I respect your views

Grimes IS as I described many times A great professional and role model but that's not been mentioned , has it

Sadly, for whatever reasons , he has been stifled. And maybe we should discuss that instead of continuing old spats

Describing someone who has played virtually every minute for 7 years as a great professional and a role model is hardly ludicrous unabated love is it?

The vast majority of posts about him are critical. Sometimes it’s more than deserved.

Morgan Whittaker gets more praise than Grimes on here. He’s the antethesis of great professional and role model.

Just shows that some posters don't understand what they are watching. If they actually watch the players on and off the ball or sometimes just watch a stream/highlights.

Would be very easy for me to find a thread about Grimes where he is criticised more than he is praised.

Could you do the opposite?

Ok, so we’ve established that ‘unabated endless love for Grimes’ was a load of nonsense then.

Time to end this anyway as it’s getting too personal

Back to Vigouroux, watching him closely at Cov I noticed his positioning sense is immaculate. The same can be said in the Stoke game. Which is sort of counter-intuitive when he has such a languid style, but he clearly has great instincts.

The thing us fans need to accept is that he is a goalkeeper, and at some point he will have a dip in form or make a howler, every keeper does. He has enough in the credit bank so far for me to get behind him whatever comes.

I wonder if working with Martyn Margetson has improved his game. I am just surprised that if he has always been this good why hasn't he played at a higher level.

I recall an interview where he admitted his historical work-ethic hasn't been professional enough?

Hopefully he has got to 30 and realised he needs to sort his life out as he clearly has the talent.

I think you spot on there, he has always had the talent but it looks like he has grown up.

If he keeps up this form I can see a bigger club coming in for him.

He’s contracted for three years, not much more the club can do.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
