Oh dear, what a shame.

Do we know for sure that Bahrain’s goal bounced off Souttar or was merely diverted off course by his gravitational field?

Think tonight Gordon is showing why he should have played in Germany.
Gives us so much width and can play the high press so we'll

Well done Harry Kane. Even that keeper couldn’t stop him. He’s been battered like an ice hockey goalminder up til then.

The Finns might want to rethink this playing out from the back lark.

I love Eze as a player and he’s great for Palace but tonight’s appearance won’t have done him any favours when it comes to getting a big money offer from one of the top six.

I thought Rico Lewis was very impressive tonight.

Felt for him tonight maybe over trying It a bit too much? (Eze I'm waffling on about)

We struggled with teams who tried to contain us previously. I thought we reacted well. Maybe we learned some lessons.

Most I've seen Eze involved in any England game. Nothing quite came off for him but he looked threatening and linked up well with Grealish.

My goodness England do almost everything so slowly. They largely may make the right decision but most of the time they are so labored that teams get time to reset and then backwards we go.

Been watching the Colombia vs Argentina game and what a difference in pace and decision making. I thought the game would be slow given the weather is 30c with 80% humidity but it has a great energy to it.

Half time so have switched to Ecuador vs Peru and they too are exhibiting way more pace and energy than England even playing at 9300ft elevation.

Job done but the way Sam Matterface went on you’d think we’d had a brilliant international break and Carsley had proven he was the man for the job.
Both solid but unspectacular performances.
Finland brought on an Exeter City player so we’ve not played top class opposition.

He had his best game at the Euros at left back.

Indeed. The first mishap will see a load of people saying we're playing too open or something like that, guaranteed.

Eze seems to be a slow burner of a player.

Last season was the first season that he was consistently decent in the Premier league and I believe he is 26 now.

He generally has only had cameos for England but it's not happening as yet.

I hope it does for him but it possibly may not. He usually plays best when he is the relaxed chilled individual he normally is. For England, you can see he is over thinking and his influence has yet to show at this level.

I was there tonight, while Gordon got a lot of the ball I'm not sure he really did enough with it. Didn't beat his man enough and when he did, his final ball was lacking.

For all that I thought we played with a lot more purpose and energy than we had done under Southgate. Inevitably Finland dropped deep and defended very well (keeper was excellent, didn't realise he's the Leverkusen #1) but we had enough in the end for the win.

Quite happy for Carsley to get the job full time.

Nice night out with the family as my birthday treat
