Who is going down this season? 10:57 - Jun 26 with 4175 views | dsw2509 | Looks like a strong league to me. My relegation tips are; Blackburn-escaped last season but time has run out for them Plymouth-second season syndrome Oxford-one promoted team usually goes straight down and they are it.

Who is going down this season? on 13:16 - Jun 26 with 3774 views | derbyhoop | It looks to be a much weaker league than last season. I hope we're more involved at the top half. However, at this stage Oxford United (sans Murphy) Plymouth ( sans Scumacher as manager) Blackburn, unless Smodicz reproduces last seasons goalscoring.

Agree. For the last few seasons I've been amazed at some of the optimism on the board in pre-season. As it happens, I'm more optimistic this year, but if we lose, say, Willock, chair and JCS and someone comes in for Marti (all of which could easily happen over the next 4 months) we'll easily be back down there again. If Marti stays for the season, however, I'm fairly confident we'll be up around 9th-12th.

I suspect Begovic and Willock are already settled. Neither going to be with us. JCS will be sold if we can get £6m+. That goes a long way to fining a replacement AND strengthening other areas.. Marti will stay and we'll finish around halfway.

Who is going down this season? on 15:15 - Jun 26 with 3440 views | MedwayR | Oxford, Plymouth and one of Blackburn, Millwall, Cardiff or possibly Sunderland. Hull will be an interesting watch too, it all seems quite unsettled there at the moment.

Oxford are not a bad side and may do very well this season. How long Wayne Rooney will persevere in trying to create a reputation for himself as a competent manager is anyone's guess. In the meantime, Plymouth are a worthy candidate for relegation.

Can't really say until the transfer window closes (and we'll have played four matches by then too).

I think you could throw Swansea into the mix as well.

Good point - and relegation can sneak up on you too - see Birmingham last season, or us the season before...

Interesting to see the pre season matches, which are far more aligned to that Manure and Leicester lineup a few years back when we had intentions of slick football and top six…. I do think there are parallels, especially if some Eze money comes in and we can re-deploy some high (Willock/begovic) and unnecessary (Kakay/etc) money to valuable New players.
Who is going down this season? on 09:01 - Jun 27 with 2463 views | MrSheen | Apart from noticing they wrapped up business very early, I know nothing about this Portsmouth team. For historical reasons I don’t want them to be any good, but are they? If so, why (coaching, players, new money)?
Who is going down this season? on 16:27 - Jun 27 with 2214 views | BAWHoops | You'd imagine Oxford, Plymouth, Pompey, Watford, QPR, Derby, Sheff Weds will be down there. Also hadn't realised Sheff U start on -2 points. Not absurd suggestion to really see them struggle

I’ve always assumed pre season friendlies were a money grab, but you could be right. If the Eze sale comes in that’s some war chest eh?
