It seems that the Plymouth supporters are not overjoyed at the prospect.
I don't blame them.

Is there a time when the penny drops with talented ex players that they cannot coach?
Is it a case that they expect everyone to be able to play to the standard that they could and struggle to understand why they can't.

Paul Heckingbottom is in talks as well apparently.
Alot of their fans were not happy about it on their forum.

Seems he, like many others before him, is on a carousel of failure.

Perhaps up there on the salty Wirrall you missed the connection with DC United. Wayne did an OK ish job there for at least a season.

Levien knows Wayne pretty well. His strength and weaknesses.

Wise sage since Toshack era

I’m shocked by this, Rooney had 2 wins in 15 games - Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City. 10 points out of a possible.

I thought Rooney only won 14 of his 54 games as manager at DC United?

He’s shown so far a complete lack of ability to manage a football club well. An absence of an identifiable playing style, he’s not a good communicator, organiser, planner or motivator which is surprising given that he’s played under some of the best managers in the game. With a good coaching team around him he may well be successful at Plymouth but the odds are stacked against him. He seems nice enough, pleasant and decent but naive and a boy lost in a man’s world.

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day
