Poll: How old is everyone on here?

Clint Hill spoke very highly of him on a podcast i listened to during the lockdown. He seemed to say that all the coaching at Rangers was done by Beale and that Gerrard was purely doing the managers role.

'villa were always aware that Beale intended to take a management job when he was appointed last November'
imagine if this was always on the cards and he'd been lined up to replace warburton for a number of months.....

I blundered on to a Rangers forum when googling this guy a few days ago. Very pro Beale with a couple of posters saying if he loses Beale, Gerrard will be sacked within six months

The interesting thing will be who he brings as his number 2 whether he goes for experience or even keeps the existing backroom staff, would expect any delays now are on sorting that out

Glasgow Rangers have become our feeder club

He gives me the impression of being a coach rather than a manager, but I also think that is what the club (LF) want. Beale does the coaching while LF does the transfers.

It would be good to see one or two of the senior first team coaching staff kept on for continuity. Out of John Eustace, Neil Banfield, Matt Gardiner and Gavin Ward it was only Banfield that Warburton brought in. I can see Eustace looking elsewhere to further his career.

I liked the "two number 10s" bit - well if we keep both ours, that is.

Oh dear…. There seems to be a flaw in that plan.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

As I have been saying. We are advertising for a Head Coach not a Manager.

Beale coaching as a pure coach while our recruiters make the signings (you know, those guys who identified Dickie, Willock, Field etc) sounds good to me.

I don't think it will be as black and white as that. Beale will obviously have a say but the same as with Warburton the negotiations won't be done by the manager/coach

As I embarked on my coaching badges in the 00s, friends used to (ahem) 'joke' about whether I was in line for the Rangers job - especially as that door seemed to revolve constantly.

Now a bloke whose coaching manuals I used to subscribe to back then is getting the job.
Funny old game Saint.

Not to throw cold water over the whole thing, but if it is to be Mr Beale then there is the fear in my mind that he could be another very highly rated coach who isn't able to make the transition to manager. Much more to being a manager than just coaching and we've seen many over the years fail to make the step up.

Steve McLaren lets not forget has a wonderful coaching reputation, but we most definitely would not have him as manager again.

Don't get me wrong - if it is Beale then I wish him the very best and hope he is a great success with us - because at the end of the day if he's successful then so are QPR and that will make me happy.

But I am generally a "glass half empty" type so...you know...I have fears! But hopefully I will be wrong and he is great.
