Deadline day thread 16:25 - Jan 25 with 80573 views | Northernr | May as well try and keep all this together for the next week. Demebele withdrawn from Peterborough squad ahead of possible Bournemouth move. V good against us. Further reduces the possibility of them pulling their fingers out and relegating bloody Reading.

Bournemouth have still got two years of parachute payments left though, haven't they? And they sold Nathan Aké for 40 million quid?

And Danjuma to Villarreal for £20m this summer, and Wilson for £20m last summer and ramsdale for similar with a probable kickback on the deal which took him to arsenal this. Nevertheless they are a championship club with a 11k capacity stadium, dread to think how quickly they can burn through all that.

If Newcastle aren't going to use him at all then any amount off the wage bill works for them. from what I can see he's on a 4 (!!!) year deal at Newcastle as well, they'll just be happy if someone wants him at the end of this loan spell

He is a great pick up IMO a hard working player and lots of International experience too .Our forwards will love him once he starts driving balls into the box and he is not afraid to get stuck in .We are no longer a soft touch this year he will add to our steel

However, they got relegated while still owing the vast majority of the money they "paid" for a lot of the big money signings they made in their latter Premier League seasons. Much of their first parachute payment and Ake sale went towards that. There's been some insane stuff today. Insane. Forest, as usual, chief among it. You go from having so many strikers you can afford to ditch Loyal Taylor on Friday, who in turn you gave such a ridiculous deal he walked out on his previous club and relegated them not 16 months ago, to now paying £2m+ for a new striker today. He, himself, signed by Stoke from Bournemouth for anywhere up to £5m literally 5 months ago. Insane. Insane.
Deadline day thread on 00:35 - Feb 1 with 3403 views | barbicanranger | I'm pretty excited about this addition as well. Feel it's almost like the Johansen loan of last season albeit he is a different player. 30 y/o, energetic and has the right type of experience for our current league position (gritty premier league / upper championship player) and contrary to a few on here I think he does bring something we don't currently have in midfield - fierce shot, quality set piece taker and directness.

No. He's only played 155 minutes for Newcastle this season.

Deadline day thread on 02:00 - Feb 1 with 3208 views | superhoopdownunder | The good news is we have kept our squad together and even strengthened it through Jeff Hendrick and Dion Sanderson I am sure we made offers we could afford for Tom Lawrence and Jamie Paterson which were not accepted so walked away. We have a very busy run of fixtures after the Peterborough cup game. 10 games in 39 days. We need a strong squad to get through these games and get results. Our squad now looks like this Goalkeepers Dieng Marshall Walsh Archer (injured) Barner (not sure if he is still here?) Wing Backs Albert Wallace Moses Kakay McCallum (on loan from Norwich) Niko (not sure if he is still here?) Central Defenders Barbet Dickie Dunne Sanderson (on loan from Wolves) Midfield Amos Johansen Field Hendrick (on loan fron Newcastle) Ball Dozzell Bettache Owens Attacking midfielders Willock Chair Thomas Goalscorers Austin Dykes Gray (on loan from Watford) We've loaned out the following players Bonne (to Ipswich) de Wijs (to Fortuna Düsseldorf) Masterson (to Gillingham) Shodipo (to Sheff Wednesday) Kelman (to Gillingham) I've not included fringe players like Sinclair Armstrong Stephen Duke McKenna (now out on loan) Let's hope we can keep the momentum going. No. If they don't get promoted this season, next season will be the last season they'll get them. In 2015 they changed it from payments over four seasons to three seasons and only two seasons if a promoted team only spends a single season in the PL.

I suspect that we will only be paying part of his salary & Newcastle will pay the difference. Personally, I can't see what extra he will bring to the team, but hopefully I'm wrong & I wish him all the best. I'm definitely happier with this than signing Paterson though!
