Please no.
23 goals in 145 games.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Are we looking for players who had long injury spells last season?

It would definitely help regards negotiating contracts.

Warnock on rejecting Paterson.

Hope he scores the winner against them.

An irate Warnock is a thing to behold.

Paterson has been given a one year deal. Perhaps there is an option for a second. Bristol city did have a good spell under Johnson 2 season back when they gave Manchester city a good contest in a game of high quality passing.

He may be more Martin than Warnock.

Wise sage since Toshack era

Dhanda seems to lack the drive to make it as a top championship player. No offence

I'm certain he will get a far bigger chance with martin than he did with cooper.

Yes I agree with you but maybe Cooper stifled him a bit prepared for 1 more season to prove himself.
But please no new contract just yet done nothing to deserve it yet.

Pretty much the same thing was said of Grimes about 4 or 5 years back. There is quality in Dhanda, he just needs to be given opportunity and time in the right system not Cooperball.

Grimes is still a matter for debate. If he wasn’t he’d be gone to the PL by now

Averaging 7 goals a season from midfield assists too. Experienced and has played with both Smith and Walsh. We are crying out for experience to help bring the younger players along. Also if he’s on a free it might mean that we are going to make a serious cash bid for a striker - we’re not exactly flush with money right now. A risk well worth taking in my view.

Agreed, Brynmill.

Paterson is a solid Championship signing, especially on a free, someone well versed in the league and capable of moments of ingenuity that can make the difference in close matches.

He displayed a lot of his abilities against Blackburn that will serve us well this season. He has good touch, close control, confidence and unpredictability on the ball, coupled with sharp movement off the ball and an excellent work rate. He can link up play well, take the ball on the half-turn and accelerate away from his marker, and pick a pass, whether a little slide rule pass between the lines or a crossfield diagonal to switch the ball or release our attackers.

His diagonal getting Whittaker behind the defence in the dying minutes of the game was exceptional, landing perfectly on his boot, and could’ve led to the goal that got us a point in a slightly different scenario. Had that been Lowe or Piröe attacking Whittaker’s cross instead of Bidwell it probably would have resulted in a goal.

Paterson is not a name to get the pulses racing during the window, he’s an experienced steady hand who will perform as he is expected to and someone who has the skills on the ball that not many in this division have. Definitely a good squad player for us to have and a dependable option either starting or coming off the bench.
