IMO Anyone who served during the war deserves at least a modicum of respect .
He saw action in the battle of Crete, alongside his uncle Lord Louis Mountbatten, and was also mentioned in dispatches for his service controlling his battleship’s searchlights during the Battle of Cape Matapan.

In 1942, he became one of the youngest ever first lieutenants in the Royal Navy when he was 21 years old.

Philip also played a part in the Allied Invasion of Sicily, and it was here that he was credited with saving his ship HMS Wallace from night bomber attack in 1942 when he devised a plan to successfully distract the German planes and he married the Queen .RIP

When I saw DOE and apocalypse I thought the Dept of Environment had been canceeled!

I had respect for Phillip, even at an advanced age he still carried out public duties. He knew about duty and he just did what he did and swore at anyone who was too much of a PC snowflake.

RIP Phil the Greek.

PS, why did we call him that, he had absolutely no Greek blood!

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Apart from

Philip was born June 10, 1921, on the Greek island of Corfu as the youngest child and only son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg. Andrew, whose father, King George I of Greece, was assassinated in 1913, was a commander in the Greek army during the 1919-1922 war with Turkey

King George was Danish you know? Royalty tended to marry royalty back then, not commoners like Harry has.

All of that and the originator in 1956 of The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Undoubtedly the most successful and popular self-improvement programme in existence, operating as we speak in some 144 countries worldwide.

Rest easy old boy, you’ve more than done your bit. 🇬🇧

Quite liked the guy especially because of his animal conservation work, but then i see the pictures of him smiling and standing proud for pictures after killing Tigers and other beautiful beasts he loved his fox hunting as well proving he was just another elitist two faced c-nt.

Covid restrictions will apply for the service, so that could get Markle off the hook

Have some respect.

Harry has lost his grandfather.
I am sure he feels just like anyone else who has suffered the same.

Harry’s beef was with the press.
And he was right.

I quite likely have more respect in my little toe than the amount in which you've displayed towards other posters .
Just remember how his maternal uncle, an old lady and innocent children died so button it sonny .
