An absolutely amazing point considering the gap in quality between both sides.

That was absolutely pathetic from our manager today though, the lack of game management, the lack of awareness of what’s going on in from him, zero confidence in himself or the players sitting behind him on the bench

Posters are slating Hourihan for being poor FFS.
Can’t recall him making many stray passes in fairness.
He’s not match fit but I felt his fitness held up well. He was being run ragged line the rest of the team yet stood up ok. He’ll get fitter and stronger.
The one bit of quality he showed led to our goal. Won’t mind him being slightly off the pace for a few faves if his dead ball delivery creates more goals !
He could be THE piece of the jigsaw that gets us promoted.

Fulton seemed reckless too at times.

That comes from being overrun and having Naughton at his back.

Even Lowe did a better job than Naughton.

It was obvious to anyone with half a football brain that Naughton was another Yellow (Red) waiting to happen.
Putting anybody in his place would have been better than playing with 10 men.
As Ayew was so anonymous he should have been replaced in the second half, either by Morris to give him a run out or Manning.

Cooper is a good Coach, appears to be a reasonable man manager, but a Game Manager he is not, he is either oblivious to what is happening on the field or just too shit scared to make the changes needed.
Judging by his after match speech he is oblivious.
He needs someone up in the stands watching and advising him, but would he take the advice?
Watching last night after Notts was like watching 2 completely different sides, in passing, pressing, effort, skill and of course subs.

A coach often tends to be a goal game tactician. Ours is not.Clearly.

Lucky ours must be a fantastic pre-game? Tactician?

Being 2nd in the division this must surely be the case!

Opinions should be backed up by facts.

Does 1 poor performance in lasts night's game suggest we'll slip down the league in the second half of season?

Or is it just a nothing comment and an opportunity to moan?

Have you even considered the fact that we could be 1st with slightly better game management?

Yes i have, and concluded that it wouldn't be the case.

'Slightly better game management' in my opinion wouldn't have got us extra points last night, nor against Norwich (that was down to poor finishing), nor Derby, nor Sheff wed where ref screwed us, nor Bristol City away etc.

There's been several games though where game management has won us points, probably over balances towards us being up on that aspect actually.

Yes, it is all down to "opinion" and we are all allowed one and allowed to express them.

I have long held the view that Cooper is a good coach, but not a good game manager.
In all honesty, if we are lucky enough to go up, I do not think that Cooper is the man to keep us in the Prem.

He might be if only he could change, or accept advice from who understands game management.

Plenty of young coaches have somebody experienced behind them in the dugout. Or at the very least, someone who understands game management very well.

Liam Rosenior at Derby, for example, is often the person organising the players from the touchline at difficult periods of the game.

That is mainly Steve McClaren sitting in the stand and in communication with Rooney and the dugout.

It will be interesting to see how Swansea do against a strong Man City team. Carlos Parked the bus and got hammered. Clement could easily have had a win or draw there if Narsingh had done his job in his first season.

A timid zero shots on target will not do.

It's somewhat odd that people have taken criticism of Cooper's approach to the game yesterday as criticism of Cooper generally.

This season he's done a fine job. Without doubt. We've improved in basically every department and most people have said so. Doing a Badlands and trying to play that down simply doesn't work.

However, there's no doubt whatsoever that we shit ourselves yesterday. We went out to not lose, whereas Brentford went out to win. Somehow we managed to scrape a point where a two or three nil Brentford result wouldn't have flattered them. It's a big concern, especially when you're as close to a return to the Premier League as we are.

I'm in no rush to repeat the first few months of Clement's last season in charge. Cowering in our own half as inferior or at best equal teams have the freedom of play ahead of us. Cooper needs to practice what he preaches. If we lose going down all guns blazing, fair enough. If we lose because we don't have the balls to try and win, well, that's unacceptable.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
