Let's hope they switch Tuesday's game to Wednesday

Does anyone know if there is any football ground in the country, League or non-league, where you would be allowed to have 4,000 fans?

According to the rules it would have to be tier 1, with a minimum capacity of 8,000. I can't think of any.

None. And they knew that full well.

Would rule out IOW and the Scilly Isles and can't think of any in Cornwall - no idea what the biggest ground would be down there - Truro perhaps?

Footballing wise it is definitely Truro. I'm not sure where the Cornish Pirates RU team play, nut that may be bigger.

Truro are allowed a maximum of 600 as a level 7 (step 6) club. At least that was the rule prior to the present lockdown.

Will clubs decide that it will not be cost effective to host crowds of 2,000 & keep playing behind closed doors?

It is a decision that they will need to make between finance & public relations.

They may as well stay behind closed doors. Pointless opening up for 2,000 fans (and the ructions that may cause as well as the financial losses)

Non League is going to be fun.

Can see bumper crowds for many

In Devon, Tier 2.

According to Wikipedia Truro City groundshare with Cornish Pirates RFU, and they play at a 3,200 odd capacity ground.

So only 1,600 for them max, regardless of being Tier 1, unless they can suddenly increase the ground size by 250%...

Assume the obvious for us would be Ellerslie and SA Upper and the Paddocks However many that maybe.

No away fans presumably anywhere till things are (if ever) normal again.

How many stewards do you need for a 2,000 crowd?
QPR must already being paying 30-40 for the set-up behind closed doors. Say they pay for another 50. The income from 2,000 fans dwarfs that, especially if you include hospitality and executive boxes in that.

Its not just that, it's if any stand is open you've got to have people in there, in fact if I remember rightly from Cup Games there's a few around the empty stand, but one of the things that Hoos has stated makes Loftus Road so expensive is how many separate tiers there are for such a small capacity.

There's an old You tube video interview he did from 2016 that talks a bit about the cost of opening the stadium, it was at the time of Twenty's plenty campaign.

The maximum allowed is 600 at Truro City matches.

That is what is allowed at ALL matches in the Isthmian, Southern & Northern Premier top divisions unless the locaL authorities have inserted a lower figure.

What tier you are in makes no difference to this regulation. For instance Manchester United can't have any fans whereas FC United can host 600!

Likewise in Kent, Cray Wanderers can have 600 while Gillingham is BCD. A club like Wealdstone will greatly benefit by being allowed crowds from next thursday though.

This is providing that they have not changed the regulations for watching non leage football today!

I wouldn't fancy attending with such a small spaced out crowd. If they have a ballot I won't enter - let someone else have the opportunity. I would hope to be back at the start of next season. I've paid my ST money so my seat is safe.

Typical bit of political spin to say you could have 4,000 in tier one, and then only put Cornwall and the IoW into tier one.

From this government. Surely not!!

Infection rates are dropping though and I reckon you might start to see some Tier 1 places in January.
Norfolk and Suffolk seem likely as does Plymouth.

Suspect we will get to have more than 2k fans in around March.

Realistically you'll get to go to 1 in every 3 home games I reckon

Given the chance I'll go. will be fairly depressing of course but surely must feel less powerless than watching a stream (which of course is much better than not watching at all - small steps grandma).

With the added bonus of Naama falafel.

i think is a safe enough prediction that post Christmas 'festivities', covid cases will shoot up again everywhere. In Argentina it will be pre -Christmas due to Maradona-mania
