It seeed to me the USA had better general skills with soft touch passing and instantaeous control. The Leon Britton / Jonathan De Guzman / Joe Allen feel with exact passing and control. They were happily for Cymru toothless up front.
Wales on the other hand although trying to play propery were hitting difficult inaccurte fast ball pasing with hard balls and hard touch and lack of contriol. Wales improved when Morrell and James came on. Smith was poor and Levitt needs time. Wilson and Lawrence have the wow factor but are lazy in their passing.
