Absolutely appalling and disgusting.
https://www.theguardian.com/global/video/2019/jun/21/conservative-mp-mark-field-

He is now desperately trying to justify his actions. Bottom line, he knew she was a climate protester, he was angry that she was 'spoiling' his wealthy, privileged meal and he took action wholly expected from a bully boy misogynist. They all try to say sorry after the violence.

Would he have slammed a well built male and grabbed him by the throat? I think not. The man is a coward. If you or I was seen by a police officer doing this we’d be arrested. The same should apply here regardless if you support the protest or not, it does not give him the freedom to physically assault people.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks

Disgraceful by Field who should have the book thrown at him, i'm horrified seeing that video.

Throwing a book at someone is incredibly dangerous, you could have someone’s eye out, or worse it could hit them in the temple and kill them stone dead. Depending on the size of the book I suppose and the sharpness of the edges but I would still strongly condemn the aggressively violently, recklessly behaviourly that you are endorsing.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Any parent who handled a child in the same way Field dealt with the protester should absolutely be up on an assault charge.

Quite right, and we need at least 5 million more police officers to investigate the millions of accidental, non accidental and unwanted touching of human beings that happens on a daily basis. This country needs sorting out!

The only person showing aggression on that video was Mark Field.

There are other videos out there showing instances where bystanders have failed to act quickly enough and innocent people have lost their lives because of inaction.

Have you seen the professional security people dive on perceived threats in other countries? She's lucky it was a relatively weak older man pushing her out.

Anyway why don't these protesters go to China, where the real pollution is going on?
Probable answer: Their aim is maximum publicity from least amount of effort. In other words they are not commited enough, or don't really care enough.

That's what they said about John Wilkes Booth in that Theatre in 1865. Yet there are still people like you, candidates for inaction in circumstances which may cost someone their life. At what point does the woman pose a threat? answer: when she entered the room!

When I was a kid and I was being naughty or mischievous in a public place my mother would grab me and drag me out of the place and maybe even give me a slap across the ass. At no point have I or anyone else thought she was a bad person. If you genuinely think this odious cretin was assaulted then you are a very sad person.

Shaped your character.

Quote from an invited guest at the event:

“Asked what happened when the protesters entered the hall, a financier said: “People stopped talking and listened politely. A lady kept reading the same sentences over and over again, but she was very polite. We listened for three to four minutes, said thank you very much and clapped. Then they were asked to leave and security took them out.”

This happened before the incident in question.

So, on balance, there was no perceived threat. None.

Oh, and given this:

“when we got to the door, he shoved me outside on to the street, and said: ‘This is what happens when people like you disturb our dinner.’

neither did he.

As for your last bit - laughable. Who do you think is buying the goods being manufactured in China that are causing the issue? That’s right. It’s the affluent West. We are causing the problem - we’ve just shifted manufacture from here to there.

You've got your opinion and I've got mine, yours is based on what you want to hear, and what you want to believe. As for your last comment regarding China, then why don't these protesters park themselves outside retail premises in this country and hassle the public? Total garbage, I'm not even going to bother reading any of your posts in future.

How will I cope.

Mine, by the way, is based on knowing someone who was there plus footage.

Yours is based on seeing nothing wrong with him manhandling someone whose views you disagree with.

And they did park themselves outside retailers. Throughout London. For quite a while. Can’t believe you missed it.

'Relatively weak older man' compared to security professionals in some other countries that may have dealt with her.
Please read my posts in full, and do your very best to try and understand them.

You don’t actually believe that do you, given what we’ve seen with our own eyes and heard from people there, and from the apology of Field? There’s no logical reason to double down on defending him, unless you’ve got the hump because your ‘team’ is on the wrong side.

Or you’re very paranoid. If you go round wearing a coat of armour just in case the next woman you see is a psychopathic ninja, then I apologise. But maybe you need to see someone about it .

It’s a person handling a person. She was up to no good and got dealt with. If you think that’s assault then you’ll also agree that any person who’s ever given a child a slap across the bum or dragged them out of a room for being naughty is a complete scumbag. Let’s not pick and choose when it’s ok to man handle.

I don't know where to start here... ."She was a person up to no good"...she was publicly demonstrating against the man-made death of our planet. I agree that he was in his right to prevent her accessing the speech area, but he did it completely incorrectly and used excess force. I hope he loses his job the twunt.....and it is never right to hit kids if they are being naughty.
