More luck than judgement.... 17:16 - Sep 29 with 5424 views | _ | What an insult to Graham Potter who had a full pre-season with our FULL squad. Total Footbal As mentioned in another thread that was ridiculed, we've got players (and a manager) who are able and willing to play in multiple positions, and do it all with aplomb. Who would drop Rodon now? Naughton, where's his best position in this league? Superb in right back, centre mid?!! Matty - left back or the most developed centre mid we've seen so far this season. McBurnie - centre forward or midfield? Whichever, he's our linchpin at the moment. Established EPL players left out but ready and able to come in. But hey, our squad is thin???? Is it fack, and it never was. Sssssssshhhhhhh!!!!!!!

More luck than judgement.... on 11:47 - Sep 30 by icecoldjack | Potter quote in the presser " we've gone from having no squad to suddenly now having a squad " So clearly not a master plan to be using so many young players but a pleasant surprise to know they have stepped up and are causing him the right kind of selection headaches . Thought so. |
Only dullards like you can't see what he meant there. And it's dullards like you he's mocking

Yep he was clearly reacting to the question about good selection headaches when all the questions prior to that had been about our thin squad (which he mostly denied was the case) It’s amazing how the narrative has turned from “we are doomed if we are going to rely on youngsters” to “we’ve got lucky with the youngsters” - if the plan was only to give the youngsters a chance and see how they do then whoever made the decision deserves a huge amount of credit. Doubt they’ll get it mind...

Eh? He wasn’t at the club when we got relegated. He wouldn’t have seen these players to make a deduction in what the plan was. The plan for relegation was put in place by those at the club at the time. Potter may well have come in thinking the squad was decimated, he was wrong. The plan was sound as is being proven.

After the next international break, hopefully Montero and Bony are back in contention, but in any case, I think another two weeks with this guy and we will step up again. You know what? F*ck the premier league. I’m really enjoying this again. (And no, that’s not saying I don’t want to get back there, but with this sort of approach, not a frightened hoofball wancklub like Colin’s C*ntpipes.)

I always wondered what CCFC stood for, now you've explained it properly!

More luck than judgement.... on 17:58 - Sep 29 by ItchySphincter | I have to admit I questioned the setup before kick off and maybe there’s still an argument that Celina is wasted out wide but tbh it all worked a treat. Grimes was fantastic again, Naughton, Byers superb, Ollie at attackng mid with a CF in front of him was a master stroke. Some of the football, especially for the second and third goals was sublime and Tom Carroll really showed what he is capable of - a complete confidence player. Leroy looked like a giant amongst men when he came on, a cut above. Every one of them had a solid game today, not one passenger. |
Byers looked absolutely knackered, gave everything. I was most impressed by CBR, after that first game he must have been nervous but I bet the goal made him feel all warm inside, shame he missed a real sitter but who's perfect? Of course we thought our squad was thin, how many of us thought having so many U23's in would be anything but disaster? Who knew Rodon and McBurnie would look so effective. Who knew that Graham's middle name really is Harry and he could make something close to a silk purse from the sows ear.....I'll still be worried if we lost VdH and Fer long term though.

I would guess everyone thought Mcburnie would be effective.

A lot of our fans didn't even though he was one of the most effective goalscorers in this division over the second half of last season (for a relegated club no less).

he was one of the few showing any "effort" before his loan to Barnsley, But have to admit he has come alive this season.

He was very much alive at Barnsley. Having a poor season for goals so far by his standards in this division (the broken toe might be a factor idk).

We haven't been creating much so far, but his efforts and passion is obvious, hes also been a Doug Sharpe most of the time.

Maybe t1000 did get excited but didn't become crazy! Before that game yesterday we had scored 7 goals in 9 games, and without Jeff it could have been 3 goals in total. Some pretty football at times, but a long way to go yet. A few people need to calm down, or they may be in for some major disappointment, especially after January.

The lack of decent service is probably a bigger factor.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |
