If you voted Leave....... 11:18 - Jul 9 with 24533 viewswestwalesed

…….and there was a 2nd Referendum, as the "Peoples Vote" brigade (oh the irony) want to have, how would you vote?

Hypothetically if the question was:

a) Accept the Current Deal (assuming it doesn't get watered down further) or
b) Leave the EU with No Deal in place.

I'm appealing to people here, don't let this be hijacked, no insults and petty points. Just a statement of how you voted originally would vote now, and why?

So to kick off:

I voted Leave.
I would vote to leave without a deal.
I would do so because I believe that the only way of the UK getting the deal it wants is to negotiate from a position of full Sovereign Independence.

LOL - getting very desperate on the leave side.

Macron and Verhofatadt are arguing for a United States of Europe.

The trouble is when we first voted to join we did it on the basis of loose trading arrangements.

Since then there has been more and more political integration - which U.K. people were never asked whether they wanted it or not - it was all done insidiously.

If we don’t get out now - will the insidious political integration continue into a United States of Europe?

If Remainers want this then argue the merits of it and persuade people and let people democratically choose this option - instead of insidious undemocratic creep.

aaaahh, that would take bollocks.

The truth, honesty and democracy has ceased to be a concern for 'Remainers' and continent based supporters of the EU.

They are not interested in taking people with them.
Some devious old bastards have set up a system which renders that exercise unnecessary.

The mode has become;
- feed them some shiiit
- claim we all depend on the EU
- ratchet up fear
- do what is necessary to advance the EU project, in secret behind closed doors without visibility and accountability
- never accept responsibility for the consequences.
- destroy all opposition voices using whatever means necessary
- ignore democracy.

We just need them to start authorising violence against their own people and we will have a full blown totalitarian, fascist, state.

"insidious undemocratic creep"?

Perhaps if you could try to move away from slogans and on to specific objections?

It is democratically elected EU governments that decide the important strands of European policy, along with MEPs directly elected in each country.

Here is a video I found that explains it:

Well that is certainly one vision of the future of Europe, although many generally pro-EU countries would disagree.

But even so what is it specifically you find terrifying about common taxation? Or anything else?

Too much power concentrated centrally and by too few.

If history would then repeats itself you would have an unelected EU commissioners or similar overseeing it.

Germany would also probably have all the political power as it would bankroll it.

It would be run on the basis of Napoleonic code of law (judges ruling on things) - not our common law and jury system).

If we wanted to control mass immigration we wouldn’t be able to.

Of that 2 points are real.

It is true Judges would decide in matters of international law, but otherwise almost certainly not. There are for example 2 strands of law in the US, with most crimes matters for states. And there is a lot to be said for experts - judges - ruling on complex international matters

Secondly it is true that individual countries would give up flexibility n dealing with immigration.

But I'll tell you this Nookie, a steelworker in Port Talbot without doubt has a lot more in common with a steelworker in the Ruhr, than with an investment banker living in Belgravia who primarily wants to hire cheap domestic help. Take off your nationalistic blinkers and think about where common interests actually lie.

Has the last 30 years really been a disaster for you? Globalisation would still happen outside of the EU you know.

There was a Kiwi chap talking on R4 this morning about potential British / New Zealand trade after Brexit. Great for NZ and us consumers, unlimited cheap NZ lamb - but what would that mean for the Welsh farmer?

Wel it should mean a huge advantage for the producers who have the massive financial advantage of not having to ship their produce half way round the world.

When we have a net 600,000 coming into the country a year - when immigration peaked and we can’t control it - that can’t be right. These were also official figures counted by survey and noton the basis of National Insurance numbers issues.

Surely you need infrastructure to be built to cope with this.

We have never had this size of immigration in our countries history.

You keep saying Brexiteers are racists - yet areas like Slough voted for Brexit

Are the people of such an ethnically diverse place as Slough racists?

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/m.huffingtonpost.co.uk/amp/entry/slough-beyond-br

People don’t mind drip fed immigration they don’t like mass immigration.

Under EU’s single market free movement is one of the four freedoms.

The majority of people in the U.K. do not want mass immigration, including the people of Slough, they want it to be controlled which is irreconcilable with EU’s four freedoms.

You said above

“The pie in the sky promise of the land of milk and honey abruptly ceased on the day after the referendum.

Then the reality started to dawn that there is no Brexit plan of any flavour which doesn't screw over a big chunk of the UK economy.

The problem of immigration among bigots and racists would vanish as if by magic cos no fcuker worth his salt would want to come to this dump anyway.

Time to backpedle urgently and salvage what can be salvaged from this God awful mess.’

I read that - that you were linking Brexit to bigots and racists.

It was doomed because the EU had spent the last few years lurching from crisis to crisis with no effective plan to fix anything and the attitude that if we just carry on regardless and ignore everything then everything would be fine.

PS the terrifying stuff is not all noise.

Do you want a centralised United States of Europe (which is financially bust, just wait until the next downturn), under a single current and a single taxation system - under the control of unelected bureaucrats under German power - who bankroll the entire system.

No control over borders - mass immigration which you can’t control.

How is that noise?

We are becoming more and more politically integrated - that why it appears so hard to get out. So we want even more political integration - as tha whatbpeiplw like Macron and Verhofstadt want.

Depends how you define a crisis. Migrant Crisis has been more or less resolved if you look at the numbers now migrating into Europe. The UK was not exposed to the Greece financial crises being out of the Euro.
