Plea to the Board- Be decisive act now (first posted Nov 19 Th) 18:15 - Dec 21 with 1714 viewsfrancos16

Despite it only being mid November the need for a Managerial change is both urgent and critical in the clubs attempt to secure premier league status . To make a comparison with the corresponding period last year is dangerous to the point of innate stupidity when you take into account the pitiful return that our home games have so far generated against sides who are very likely to be in the 'mix' come April / May 2018 when relegation will be decided.
I pose the rhetorical question , what did we really expect with the appointment of Paul
Clement ? An impressive CV as a coach is absolutely no basis to assume that Managerial success would naturally follow , in point of fact history suggests otherwise . Be that as it may, a cursory inquiry with Sam Rush the former CEO at Derby County may have at least shed some potential light on what may befall Swansea City as a club .
An appointment of any Manager is by necessity an inherently difficult exercise but with due diligence and a stringent interviewing procedure some ( but not all of the ) risks can be alleviated . As a matter of fact at that stage the Board in early January 2017 were presented with at least 3 other alternatives to the present incumbent , one in particular appeared to have the skill set and experience to at the very least warrant further enquiry . His CV reads almost 400 games at the highest level, 40 plus international caps , Assistant Manager ( not Coach) with 14 almost consecutive years since 2002 at Premiership level with 6 Premiership Clubs as well International Assistant Manager experience. One might conclude that type of applicant would at the very least be interviewed. Unfortunately , the powers that be determined they would appoint an individual they had overlooked 3 months earlier for a wholly inexperienced untried novice in Bob Bradley ! I appreciate that it all sounds the wrong side of absurd but as long suffering Swansea City supporters you will accept the same as the undeniable truth.
Mr Clement is in professional terms dying a very slow and undignified death, he has lost the dressing room ( sometime ago) , lost the support of the fans and tactically lost the plot . The Board know he's out of depth and cannot turn it around and need to ' grasp the nettle by the hand ' , terminate his contract and engage in a process urgently and get the new man appointed . There are would be candidates out there some who may be a good fit , some not but the process must start without delay. It is not too late to resurrect this season simply on the basis there are at least 4 or 5 bang average sides in this league who can be overtaken

They have wasted at least another month , some say 2-3 months when the writing was on the wall. They have the interims appointed , get out there find the best 3-4 candidates ( no knee jerk reaction) . Have a process where you interview in person and not over Skype , do the due diligence investigations on the applicant and then appoint . That's pretty much how it works in any other line of business. If necessary co opt someone respected from the football world who knows the prem league to assist( as it seems assistance is required given the last few appointments )

Can't argue with any of that. As you say, Clement looked lost at least a month ago. I can't remember the exact game, but there was a point when his behaviour and body language changed noticeably.

From what others have said, it seems the new management structure has complicated and drawn out the decision-making process. That international break (at the latest) was the time to get stuff sorted out.
