I dream of Jeannie.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Frasier was much better IMO. Niles was the man!

Loved both of those already mentioned, Cheers and Taxi (with the link of course, that Danny De Vito is married to Rhea Perlman who played the brilliant Carla).

But on balance, for me it's M*A*S*H and an honourable mention for Married with Children.

Even though they missed the 20th century by a couple of years, my favourite US comedies are arrested development, trailer park boys and curb your enthusiasm. Can't separate them, and nothing else gets close IMO.

I can't believe no one has mentioned "saved by the bell" yet.

Screech. Comic genius.

That 70s Show is funny and it's got a catchy theme tune too.

Forgot about Bilko, the forerunner to so many. Then there's Seinfeld and Friends. As much as I enjoyed Frasier it got a bit the same in later series. Porridge is my all time favourite.

Friends was a bit anodyne, but they managed to be very funny without ever swearing. Ditto The Simpsons. I liked Curb though (for the swearing mainly). Frasier was patchy.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia and How I met your mother are both 2 decent American comedy's from recent years too. Wouldn't call them classics but decent enough.
