Best pitch outside the Prem! on 21:34 - Jan 17 by ColDale
it's funny cos we could have told them that at the start of August but as always they know best
Aye, it was holding water in July/August during the friendly we granted them. I doubt we'll go there next summer due to fear of injury, or death by drowning. Jamie would be up to his waist on the touchline!
Not to worry. The concerts and boxing matches that they are hosting in the summer will help pay for the pitch repairs that are require in the sum..... Oh....
They don't have a great record these people at bury with regards to improving things.
The "new" pitck is a shambles; more water on it than Firgrove in the second week of January. Lower Gigg is flooded and Bury Grammar have said no thanks meaning that the training facilities are being begged from Phil Gartside and Bolton.
I hope those new houses they plan to build come with a good guarantee as drainage does not appear to be the strong point!

We've seen it before for ourselves but a bad pitch can cost a club results. For all the impressive signings Flitcroft has made this last month I would still be surprised if they made the play offs as the pitch will actually serve as an advantage for many away teams.

"Progress has been made over the last two weeks with the JD Stadium Pitch. Three key stages are now complete with regards the playing surface.
Using specialist equipment and lasers, the pitch is now completely flat with the crown down the centre of the pitch having been removed. Once levelled and dressed, work began on the installation of new drains within the surface. Once that was complete a new sprinkler system was installed and will be proved to work on Wednesday morning.
Once the sprinklers have been commissioned, then all work will be quickly completed. Top dressing will be the first to go down followed by ‘fibre sand’. The sand has special fibres mixed with it that allows grass roots to secure a firmer hold.
Once that goes down, then the final part of the five week process is to seed the pitch, and progress so far indicates that seeding will be completed at some point on Wednesday. Then the pitch is handed over to Mother Nature and allowed to grow.
Our next pitch update will be to reveal the new surface being marked out in readiness for the new season, including a time lapse video of all the work that has gone on over the last five weeks to completion.
The pitch has undergone its biggest redevelopment in the clubs long history and once complete, we hope it will prove to be one of the best, if not the best, in League Two"
Clearly they need to sign a replacement for this Mother Nature who clearly is not up to it!

that famous old pitch
it must certainly be the "one of the best" for "standing water" and being a "mud bath" if what Gareth Ainsworth says is true
the corner count almost matches ours vs Notts Forest (1-16) with Bury (3) and Wycomme (13)

"synchronised pitch forking has been an art at Bury for years now" as they zoomed in on grounds men trying to fork the standing water. Looked like a potato field
That famous old pitch forking club
