I hope you're going to turn up next week to boost the crowd as we ourselves are hoping to see a decent side out there on the hallowed turf as we are not seeing it at present. SUPPORT WALES, as we are all Welsh. arn't we?

It's a bit pathetic that people can't support their own country without trouble flaring between people supporting the same team. A lot of people need to grow up.
Most of the so called hooligans would run a mile if they were one on one. Pathetic.

Correct. Some people need to focus on the National side for a change.

Not fishing at all my old mate, there again only a certain type would think i was.

Its not about club football Friday its about Wales, feck me we used to get 60000 at the Millenium without any trouble so why wouldn't it be the same Friday?

Fecking grow up.

What certain type would that be? The type that won't go because he's fed up of seeing gangs of Cardiff fans in Cardiff colours, slagging off anyone they think is a Jack?
I was in the Millenium (again in Hughes' reign) with about `14 others and sat next to a group of Cardiff shirted "welsh" fans. As soon as they heard our accents (mostly Neath) the abuse started to flow. We were fairly well matched for numbers and nothing more than verbals happened. But why should anybody have to put up with it?
Cardiffians, well footballing wise anyway, are not such a bad bunch, I know a few. But the valleys bunch, what a moronic, aggressive (and illiterate) bunch.

PS, for the Hughes reign, we had the highest average gate. My bunch had seasons. We got better crowds than Russia, Spain, Germany and England a few times. You say there was no trouble, I saw different. You say grow up, tell the Cardiff shirted idiots who abuse anyone they think is from Swansea. And tell those idiots who came to the Liberty waving Cardiff flags. You don't see a Jack wearing club colours at internationals, but you do see Cardiff fans in club colours. So again, you grow up.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Are you telling me butt a Neath accent is any different to a valley's? now a Cardiff accent is different and you would know it but Valley's and Neath no chance. Do you not think we have fans from Neath? Bridgend, Pontypool? How the feck would anybody know where they're from?

Not saying there some idiots following us but so have you, in fact there are idiots on this forum which are saying things that happened in Morriston why not condemn them?

Ok if you don't want to go Friday don't, you won't be missed but there will be plenty there that will want to be there.

I agree wearing club colours is stupid but for the record if i did i wouldn't wear them down the Liberty for obvious reasons.

Ignore the feckers and enjoy the football.

Surprisingly, Hughes has the worst record as Welsh Manager than anyone in the last 10 Managers.

When wales are playing Friday i won't be asking the guy or lady next to me what club he or she supports, because i won't give a toss.

I just believe games should be kept in the capital of the country where possible.

Cardiff is the biggest city, has the most football fans and has the best transport links.

Can you get a train back West after the game Dwight. Also a point of order, Cardiff's fans ( the majority of them) come from the valleys. There are more Swansea fans living in Swansea than Cardiff fans living in Cardiff. And it has always been thus.
The majority citizens of Cardiff have a no love at all for their own capital city football club.

Which makes the issue of an independent wales a laughable one. We cannot agree even to support the national team...that's the wales team.

There used to be large queues outside Cardiff Central during our period under Mark Hughes where there would be huge attendances but it's not as bad as it used to be.

I doubt Swansea station could manage the thousands of people getting home via train on matchnights the way Cardiff currently does.

Cardiff Central struggles as it is and it is used to 75,000 people attending matches there, Swansea has never come close to holding something similar.

Err, that wasn't the question though was it. And you didn't address the point i made about Cardiff fans being mainly from the valleys. It's traditionally a rugby town Dwight.

Rugby town or not there will likely be upwards of 24,000 there Friday, which is outstanding considering how poor our crowds have been in recent years.

Swansea had opportunities and didn't excel. Cardiff is the rightful home of Welsh international football whether some like it or not.

Yeah you're probably right Dwight. Which is why not many around here (Swnasea) don't really give a stuff. Let them have the national team, our club far outshines even our so called national team worldwide.

I would be delighted if Swansea was to host every Wales match from here on forward, it just wouldn't be the correct choice.

People keep calling for Swansea to get the 'big' games yet whenever we do the turnout is appalling.

12,500 against Croatia last year was poor.

37 yrs ago would have been hostile as unfortunately that was the climate of the time but i dare say both clubs were poorly supported at the time.

What has changed? Well in you're attitude nothiing as you can't have a decent debate without having a dig ay the Caaaaaaardiff accent .

As for Swansea, Valley's , Neath, or any South Walian accents apart from Cardiff, i can't tell the difference, you must have a more sensitive ear!

When was the last time Swansea had a meaningful qualifier?

You also seem to have conveniently ignored my post which shows many European countries share their games around which completely rubbishes your claims.

But then I'm not surprised.

There are many differences in not only accents but colloquialisms etc etc. you should try listening a bit harder though you're right about the Cardiffian accent being so so different to any of the others. The rest just don't have that West Country twang

Well even the FAW representative (or whatever his title is) believes there could be violence.

'real hope that a crowd of over 30,000 will attend but also hope that inter club rivalry is not an issue and everyone gets behind the team'

I remember a few years back we had 9k for a friendly and one dick from the FAW public ally saying, Swansea don't deserve international football then by the same token the next friendly was in Cardiff and only 7,500 showed, no sign of the suit from FAW

I'm confused, if these attendances are for Wales games, how s it Swanseas fault? Was it 12,500 Cardiff, Wrexham and other clubs fans but no Swans then?

One major factor that would need sorting is the ticketing system when Swansea host an International. Tickets need to be sold from the ticket office for at least 4 home games before the International. A lot of people still want to walk up with cash to buy tickets. That would give Swans fans the chance to purchase easily on match days. Also put it on the online ticket system.
I am sure these things would add a good few thousand to the game.

Interesting to hear on the radio this morning that England may leave Wembley in 2018 and take the games on the road, Alan Brazil and co we're in favour of this, as was Gareth Southgate who said he found it unfair that families had to travel down from places like Newcastle on weeknights all the time.
