I'm sure you'll find some familiar faces in King Street afterwards
The bar of the Holiday Inn and Thistle in Haydock will also both be well populated
We're in the Mercure about 6 minutes walk from King St.
Still hoping to find somewhere with house music or something approaching it ! but not seen anything yet. Did anyone else have any luck ? Otherwise is there anywhere that everyones heading for. Saw theres an Ibiza bar but it doesn't sound very Ibiza like to me
As someone that isn't going, this might seem a bit much, but should we not be taking more up there?
(My sister is getting married –Â the total cow)
For this short notice I think it's a good turn out
People need to take time off from work No trains back on the day so many booking hotels Friday driving to Up the M1/6 is not appealing On sky Second leg a few days later Also many are probably thinking they have spent enough money watching us this year... Also no families can go with schools etc
Will end up 3k on a Friday night which is pretty good going in my view
Don't get me wrong, its decent, especially considering our home gate. But I'd have thought we'd have taken a few more considering the importance of the game.
Am peeved to be missing it.
Thought the Barnsley attendance was impressive considering the importance of the game.

Still a couple of days to go and pay on the day so will be about 3500 which is cracking support

Agreed. 3,000 or thereabouts is great support for a Friday night game in Wigan that is live on a Sky and no trains back. Let's hope we can raise the roof....
So, there will be nearly 1500 tickets available on the night - cash only. That seems a bit bizarre to me............. I'm almost tempted to dash up there on Friday.
Why would Wigan have arranged it like that? Do they really think they'll get one and a half thousand turning up on spec?
‘morbid curiosity about where this is all going’

Good shout - cant imagine there'll be anywhere in Wigan that will have a house, soul or underground dance policy More likely it'll be commercial pop, euro house and grimey R&B shite
If you do find anywhere do share it with us
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Can't imagine they'll be a any ...soul in Wigan!!!!! . Er, Northern soul originates from Wigan !!!

Really? I wasn't aware of that.... I know nothing about music me.
So there's a plethora of places paying homage to the pier, casino, wheel that spins etc is there? Funny how last time I was up there I had to persuade the landlady of The Swan to put a Northern Soul CD on after our London train was cancelled. Times change and all I can find is the sort of places I originally mentioned. If there is somewhere with a night that'll play some Atlantic Records nuggets then I'm all over it, even better some chunky house.
That's all a sideshow though. I'd happily sip cherryade in a gaff that's pounding out endless plastic pop and No Direction if we come away with a win by a couple of goals!
COME ON U R's!!!!

I'm there with bells on..
Well not actual bells; I'll be donning Luke1977 jacket, Pretty Green polo, Diesel jeans and suede kickers. Not decided what tit fer tat to wear to keep the bonce covered.
Driving up as recent health issues means self imposed booze ban still in place; the playlist sorted for the car and I'll be educating a couple of whipper snappers who missed it all first time round. First time EVER I've done a northern away trip and stayed over and not been cowboy drunk in the small hours falling out of some Godforsaken club with the disco rope-light flashing blearily in the distance. Matters not. In spirit. I. Am. ON IT
C'MON U R's!
