Arsenal, WH and C****** win actual football matches and trophies though. We are not asking for a lot here… If we win a European Cup they can send out who the f**k they want and I’ll be running down the Uxb Road with my willy hanging out |

Junior Hoops Christmas and Halloween Parties a particular highlight/key to fan engagement. |

Supporting the club for 40 odd years and not even a semi final for the highlight reel, I feel the least the club could do is have the manager rolled out once a year for the ‘baying masses’. Poor form from whosever decision this is IMO. |

A bit of nonsense, but to add to the frustration: 1. If Francis was available / ready post Venables he would have been the ideal manager 2. If Fernandes was our Chairman in the 90s he would almost certainly have gone trophy hunting Obviously neither would have been a guarantee of success but just makes you think. I think if we got relegated this season we may well look back in years to come as another missed opportunity. Hopefully we can take the chance we have been given by staying up and really push on under Marti. Still difficult to know what success really looks like for this team, squad, manager, club in its current form, but I would probably be happy with 16th and a stress free year. Not sure Marti (rightly) will be so apathetic. |

I thought Anderson was outstanding. Love watching him play like that. |

Fantastic post! Woke up feeling very similar. Often though this is when Rangers are at their most dangerous isn’t it? Be fantastic if Marti is able to have a full preseason, maybe a cash injection (from an Eze sell and assuming JCS will also be sold for reasonable money) and see where he can take us with a half decent keeper and a proper strike force! Last few months has been a remarkable turnaround and an outstanding achievement by everyone involved, including the fans who stuck by this team through (sometimes very) thick and (incredibly) thin. Roll on a few months of rest-bite, until England f**k that up. |

Think another Championship club might blow our offer out the water |

I enjoyed it in there. A noticeable step up from sitting there before it was introduced over the last 20 years and a little bit of a different experience to anywhere else in the ground. Would recommend. You are allotted a space and are expected to be there, but rather than it being a pain like it sounds, think it actually works quite well. I’m sure if there was spare space, which there normally is, there would be no problem standing there instead. It’s not enforced as such, just helps with the organisation of it. |

I like the Duke, think (hope) he will get a chance under Ainsworth with Field being the calming influence in the middle |

I’ll start the bidding, just found a few old buttons down the side of the couch. One owner, semi-reasonable condition? |

Have to say I am one of the few that has a fairly open mind to this one. However it does speak volumes about our precious, much coveted (and staffed) academy. It also rather unfortunately reminds me and has given me flash backs to Brett Angell carthorsing about not looking likely to ever score in a month of Sundays against a nine man Luton team. |

Brilliant, thank you Clive, thoroughly enjoyed that one! Not sure how or where you muster the enthusiasm up from. Shame to hear of their demise, thought it was a cracking away day last year and one that would be sorely missed from the calendar (even after 2001) |

The first demolition job I remember seeing live was the 5-0 against Middlesbrough who I think were doing quite well and had Merson in the team at the time, whilst we were struggling a bit I believe (Paul Bruce / Mike Sheron team). “We want si(e)x”. Also the 6-0 against Palace on the final day from that era was a bit special but has obviously been a bit tarnished since. In the Warnock years Wolves away (as already mentioned) had me dreaming of European football and a more controversial one (think it may have been the same month) was the Monday night at home to Newcastle. From memory we battered them and the game finished 0-0, often think what might have been if we got the rub of the green and slapped them 3-0, whether the players may have bought into it all more, etc etc. Under Warburton the Reading demolition had a certain purr to it which reminded me what it felt like to support a good team again- shame that feeling was very short lived. Also enjoyed Reading at home this season, not a magnificent performance, but a performance of a team that was / is incredibly well coached. |
