It'll definitely be an intriguing start to the season that's for sure. We've moved on players we have overly relied on yet we still had poor results and replaced them with two aging veterans we relied on, young-ens or unknowns. Bring on round one. |
| Forum Reply | Watering the pitch? at 03:16 22 Oct 2015
A friend is a green keeper here in Sydney and he says there are a few reason as to why they water the pitch the most common reasons are 1/ Traction for players (so the studs actually stick) so they have better reaction time, it also allows the grass to regenerate and stay alive as the players are aerating the turf too 2/ Passes are more crisp. (not that it helps us) The sprinklers have a patch of AstroTurf attached to the top of them so when it pops back down the players don't injure themselves in the ditch. |

Pretty much agree with this post. One thing that does me head in is that CR looks to have no tactical nous and seems like he has an inability to make tactical changes to the team during a game and it is highlighted by his lack of substitutions or incorrect player substitutions.. |

With the way we play if we had 2 strikers up front (and assuming one was a fit Austin) we would get pumped through the middle of the park and lose games by scorelines like 5-3. |

Hypothetically lets say Les and Tony sit Chris down and say, mate it hasn't worked in the first team but you are an exception youth coach and we want you to go back into that role at our club (and proceed to replace him with Warnock) Do you think he will accept it or walk? |

I think he will end up in the PL at a mid table club. They are quite as they are waiting for Tony to fold when Austin asks for a move |
| Forum Reply | Why we are loaning out players.... at 08:28 5 Aug 2015
We were offered money and them off our wage bill.. I'm guessing if offers came for them they'd be off too! |

I said the same thing. I live on the other side of the world so I get my QPR fix through the newsnow website. Although it's shit, it's still relevant as that's what we are gonna cop from teams especially if we beat them! They'll moan, they'll whinge, they call us cheats and how we should of been punished etc etc and maybe they have a point? We all want financial fair play and we blew it out if the water ten fold and took the piss! I just hope we get it right this year and in the years to come. I'll take stability and long term vision than promotion if it means we can get our house in order! |

If your aren't happy about this, I reckon if Redknapp was around he'd of signed up Ashley Cole on a 2 or 3 year deal so whilst it may not be roses, champagne and chocolates, it ain't a piece of stinking warm shit on your shoe either. |

Great thread guys. As a club we have been gambling and losing for the best part of the last 5-7 years. and besides the one being talked about now, the previous time I saw a glimmer of a plan was with Warnock but even then he was afforded a nice fat squad to ensure we didn't fail. So for now, I am glad that we have gone and loaned in guys like Konchesky. There is nothing glamorous about him but we have decent players that are contracted to us long term that can play as LB but are injured so it is wise and It is being sensible and understanding that buying big doesn't mean shit. I shudder to think that if we were still gambling and pissing away our loot as a club we would of purchased Ashley Cole on a 2 year deal now and wondering why we keep making the same mistakes. |

Exactly. Those guys are tried and tested and don't need to impress so we need to think of them as a bonus if they are around when the season starts. |

It brings a realisation to us fans and the club. The rusted old fans pre 2005 who would get excited when we signed the likes Armel Tchakounte, Doudou and Stefan Moore and whilst we haven't gone that bad I'm excited about our frugal nature these days I admire the challenge put to our coaching team as it's the only way to go. Today, some players will come on the cheap and succeed like Dan Shittu, Tony Thorpe and Paul Furlong, most probably won't but this is QPR and until we built a proper set up behind the scenes with regards to a youth set up and a training base we shouldn't try and act like one of the big boys (or medium sized either) [Post edited 2 Aug 2015 13:39]

It's part of realising that TF now has people that say no to him and don't piss in his pocket as all the half decent players who performed for us last season will be snapped up. I trust that Les and Chris already know this and are planning on life without these players. |
