| News Comment | Southampton Will Play West Ham United In The FA Cup 5th Round at 13:20:22
Hard game but definitely winnable, a 0-0 and 2-3 away win already this season against WH should mean that we at least have a chance, an away game with Man City or Liverpool and we’d have been in real trouble. Early days but I’m going to say a sneaky 1-0 Saints win. |
| News Comment | Mark Hughes Appointed As Saints Boss at 09:26:52
For me I think this is good news, MH and his team seem steady and stable rather than hugely exciting, which for me (after the last few years) i’ll take. Stability might be key, they admit they only considered the Saints which also implies they had no other offer, so depending on the opinions of the Board or the fans, we perhaps might have this management trio for sometime. |
| News Comment | Yoshida Signs New Deal At St Mary's at 15:22:39
Great reward for a true professional. Whilst those around him are losing their heads, Yoshi continues to conduct himself with good grace, humour and an entirely professional disposition. Many have a downer on him but I wish we had a few more like him. |
| News Comment | Could Sammy Lee Return To St Mary's ? at 11:08:14
Not sure it would happen, but on the basis that he seems to be liked by management, players and the fans, I'd love to see him back. |
| News Comment | Puel Sacked at 22:08:17
A bad day for the Saints with a good man badly let down, hope all you feckers who wanted him out now get your just reward, be careful what you wish for. |
| News Comment | Journalist Claims That Tuchel Is Set To Be Saints Manager at 16:33:01
Thanks SanMarco I'm also hopeful about Tuchel and assume (if he's appointed) he would bring in his own team. Sammy I feel will always follow Big Fat Sam so maybe we'll see them both again in the future, there's always the blue vacancy on the south coast to fill. In fact it's the perfect match for the conniving, lying, cheating, crock, he should feel right at home. |
| News Comment | Who Is The Bookies Favourite For Next Saints Manager ? at 17:29:35
Firstly Claude Puel should stay, Black should go and Radhi Jaidi promoted to Assistant Manager. If that doesn't happen then I can see the Board having honey poured in their ears by David Moyes, contentious I know but wait and see. |
| News Comment | Gabbiadini To Return at 21:36:11
Cometh the hour cometh the man, gabbi on the bench and Jayrod (who's been getting better and better recently) to score first, Saints then pile forward and attain an unexpected win. COYS. |
| News Comment | Gabbiadini To Miss Bournemouth Game at 21:59:16
Gabbi out but with Redmond and Long up front we'll easily have enough to see off Bournemouth, the goal machine may be crocked but I see all three points to Saints. |
| News Comment | Caceres Likely To Make Debut Against The Cherries at 11:59:45
I've said before that I think Caceres is on a relatively low weekly wage which would jump substantially if he actually starts a game, so for the club who only brought him in as cover, it becomes both a tactical and financial decision when he plays. With Yoshi's busy schedule of internationals and travel fatigue, I think on Saturday we just might see Caceres first game chaperoning young Stephens. |
| News Comment | Just Who Is Leading The Chase For Virgil Van Dijk ? at 11:52:02
Unfortunately, I think VVD will leave as offers to both club and player will reach a point where the offer just could'nt be refused. However, I don't think any EPL club is big enough or have the financial clout to crash through the deal, my money will be on either Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG gaining his signature. |
| News Comment | Next Three Games Will Define Claude Puel's Season at 18:42:36
I can't believe a supporter of Southampton can be suggesting that our Managers season hinges on just three games. For me CP has been very good, has advanced the club, got us to a major final and is consolidating our position in the toughest league in the world. All this on the back of being new to EPL football, has his challengers with the language and losing a number of key players before his squad had even kicked a ball. The fans don't need to be told how important the next three games are, believe it or not we are intelligent enough to work out the maths for ourselves, we don't need to be spoon fed information and we don't need to be told the bleedin obvious. What we do need is recognition that the Boss is doing a good job and is without doubt, looking to ALL of the remaining games to gain maximum points. |
| News Comment | Tadic Linked With Arsenal And Three European Giants at 18:23:21
For me Dusan has been a good, if not a great player for Saints. I believe much of what has been written is simply media speculation, although his performances this year have been patchy and maybe he's angling for a move. At 28 he's in his prime but his performance and stamina will undoubtedly begin wain, perhaps he's looking at his personal position and think he's not going to get many more offers to play for a 'big' club. So, to stay and become the perennial super sub or leave for one last hurrah and pay day (perhaps in China), we'll have to wait and see. |
| News Comment | New England Duo Show Saints Are Getting It Right ! at 12:20:22
Nick good article which most level headed fans will support and by the way, congratulations on getting through a whole article without saying anything derogatory about Yoshi, must be a first for the year. |
