Does Anderson have another year on his contract after this season, or is this it? I recall seeing on here that a couple of our more senior players have player options for next season (Cook and Colback maybe). [Post edited 14 Dec 13:25]

Assume we will see Fox and Paal on for Morrison and Ashby in second half. Though I would have maybe started one of them at LB, but is what it is with a 3 game week. |

100% agree, but what do we do? Give Marti the keys fully at least through the January window (easier said than done, as he will need people behind him doing the recruitment work? Try to get a new CEO and/or DoF in place ASAP? You commented a few years ago when going through the accounts the number of staff we have for an organization that doesn’t win very much. All the joking about “performance” this and that on the payroll now, I assume we have ballooned even higher than before… |

Certainly not throwing the game and I didn’t say that. He is a professional and no manager at this level would do that. But I do think he was sending a bit of a message with that first set of subs in particular. |

With the “game model” being rammed down our throats for the last several months, I did find it interesting that we played 3 at the back vs. the game model’s 433/4231, especially since we really needed a win against a poor opponent. Between that and the subs, I do wonder if this was a bit of Martí pulling a Warbs when Warbs intentionally didn’t name a full bench. |

The WLS crew very clearly not fans of Nourry. |

I get we are shorthanded, but either Marti’s tactics aren’t working or we simply don’t have the players to implement it. We can’t be a possession-based team and lose the possession game every week. We are lucky to complete two passes over the halfway line before giving it away. |

Yes, Celar should do better there, but a little tricky getting caught in his feet. My bigger issue is he has had at least two headers in recent games that just have to be goals. [Post edited 1 Oct 21:35]

Was charting this myself. Sorta unbelievable. The information vacuum here will only spur conspiracy theorists to think they aren’t fully aligned behind the scenes. Limited Marti availability for these types of fan engagement opportunities, making the new game model guy available for interviews rather than Marti, some curious Marti comments during the summer about recruitment, etc. |

On a different note, for supposedly wanting to play a possession-based style, I think we have only had the majority of possession in one or two of our league matches so far… |

It really is a roll of the dice every game on which Colback we are getting. Some games he is so important in providing stability and linking play…then other games he just fouls, throws his hands up when he doesn’t get the ball right to his feet or a man doesn’t make a run, and gives the ball away. |

JCS obviously jumps out. But no Morrison either. And I assume “Morgan” is Kieran who joined the dev squad from Tottenham I believe in the spring…I guess we see what Hevertton is made of today.. |

Great listen, as always. On the transparency front, and not to pile on, but a couple MLS folks noted online that with the way MLS transfer window and registration works, Cannon would have needed to be without contract since as far back as mid-August. Seems like we actually parted ways on August 14. Again, weird, but this one is obviously thorny. |

I imagine this is nothing more than a much bigger opportunity that was too big to turn down. While NBA operates with a salary cap, there isn’t really a limit to what teams can invest in other areas to gain a competitive advantage. Huge staffs of data and performance analysts. But it is interesting given the comment about him being more involved than just the health side with QPR and to leave after a year. |
