Looking at one of their forums they seem to think they are looking to sign a commanding centre back which is not what Dunne will give them. Also saw (on FB so who knows) that we are holding out for £3m and Sheff Utd are now looking elsewhere. Worse case scenario for us is he isn’t sold in the next 24 hours, doesn’t sign a new contract and leaves for nothing end of season.
Yeah he could’ve been vague and just said he was unavailable for selection. If today had been a home game I assume players with minor injuries would be at the game in the stands somewhere but not sure the protocol at away games.
And why would we do that? Logically you offer your decent players a decent contract within the financial perimeters that exists for the club if you want them to stay. If they don’t sign then they will leave to get the wages they want whether we like it or not.
Totally agree with your Gary Weaver comment: the guy is an absolute weapon of a commentator. Hell on earth is him and Andy “this is what they should have done” Hinchcliffe working on the same game.
If we finish top 10 I would expect there is a decent chance Cifuentes will move on in the summer anyhow so keeping one of our better players (who has actually played most of the games under his tenure) should be a priority. However if we’ve offered our best contract and he won’t sign then it makes sense to sell him now if we can get decent money rather than lose him for nothing.
All well and good but what do you think the owners can do to improve the lack of space and lack of legroom at Loftus Road with the current infrastructure? New ground would be the only option.
Those seats up in the corner haven’t been sold for years. Nothing to stop an away fan from strolling over there to take a quick pic and claim they’d been sold the seat though.
Come on there are no OTT comments on here as far as I can see: it was a poor performance and we deserved to lose as I don’t think any of our players rated above a 6 today. Hopefully just a blip and we turn Millwall over next week.
Referee was weak for both teams, certainly had no bearing on our defeat.
Dreadful flat performance all over the park. Mistake not to play Cook who wouldn’t have let Michael Smith bully him. Weak as hell ref who Sheffield Wednesday exploited but we were far too nice to do that.
10 minutes action in 2 weeks isn’t going to get either player up to speed. Would expect our captain Cook to be put straight back in the team from the start.
They were booing as their team deservedly took the lead after dominating against a very poor Bristol City and then bizarrely decided to stop attacking altogether and drop back into their penalty area to just defend the lead even though there was over half an hour to go. Totally handed initiative to Bristol who couldn’t believe their luck and grabbed a late equaliser. Terrible tactics by the manager/team: threw away the win.
Based on the recent injury update I’d put Cook and Morrison straight back in. Harsh on Fox I spose and Edwards shouldn’t be starting ahead of our own players when fit.
