Great draw for Dale and a very winnable game in my opinion. Shades of 1971 when Dale would`ve played Leeds at home in the 5th round had they not fallen asleep in the last three minutes of the 4th round game with Colchester. Up 3-1,Dale`s keeper Tennant let one through his legs, then on the last attack of the game Colchester swept downfield and scored an equaliser even they knew they were very lucky to have got. The replay was a disaster,Dale never showed up,got whacked 5-0 and Colchester went on to make history,ex Ipswich striker Ray Phillips terrorising the much vaunted Leeds defence to fire them into a 3-0 lead before Leeds scored two late goals. Such is (was) the glory of the FA Cup,this could be Dale`s year. Why not?

If we only sell 4000 home tickets the marketing department should hang there heads in shame.
Leeds at Home - Fa Cup round 3 is a cracker of a draw.
with the wilbutts restrictions i envisage 3200 sell out for Leeds and between 5 and 6k Dale.
Thats a Minimum expectation on 8200 and a full house 9200 should be the aim for all concerned at the club.
I really don't understand any talk of 'crowd restrictions'? On Wiki it says the capacity is 10,249. We should be able to sell that out? As has been mentioned previously the Wilbutts is a stand alone facility with fences - reserved seating so every ticket has a seat number and EVERY seat should be taken. What's the point of having a capacity and not being able to use it? Its comical.

Think the police will have a say.
would prefer 3500 from Leeds in every seat but i am sure it will probably be reduced to 3200 for this one.
add the 5 - 6000 Daleys and even at 9200 Spotland would look and be pretty close to being full.
I suspect the club are having a big meeting this morning on how to promote the game to the lapsed missing fans.

Its crazy though, you wouldn't have say a concert hall which has 10,000 seats only selling 90%. I really can't understand if every ticket has a seat number where the problem is? Will the police knock the money lost off their bill? Really hope we can get 10,000 in the record books for this one.

Oh sadly they do and are just as bad as ever. I know that GMP will be out in mega force for this one
No they don't, no better or worse than any team who take the numbers they do. Home fans need to embrace what the atmosphere will be like and remember they are a loud bunch win, lose or draw. I think they will have a match on their hands anyway, might be giant killing win hopefully.

That's the question isn't it - considering in recent history we've never come close to 6000 home fans
If this message board is anything to go by, I'd say there's plenty of interest. There are 4, at least, of us here coming (dependent on getting tickets)
YOU do not have the right to give someone else permission to tell me what I can and can't do.

Its only 5 years ago we had 9870 attendance for the Darlington play off game. Definitely over 6000 Dale fans that day as we had a section of the Wilbutts also. We should at least be able to match that attendance.

We were getting league attendances at least 1000 more than we are at the moment and it was for a place at Wembley.
What we should so and what we will do are 2 different things.

Priority vouchers to be issued to paying fans v Fleetwood. S/T holders first priority though. I would like to see the policy that S/T holders can also buy up to 2 additional tickets. Those who claim their usual seat might then bring a couple more with them if they can all be guaranteed to be sitting together.

Its important that our league form doesn't get affected by this cup game - a few good wins leading up to the Leeds game or going top again will have a big boost to the interest in tickets. Hillys 1st proper cup run also!

"If we only sell 4000 home tickets the marketing department should hang there heads in shame" I think that's a bit harsh to say at the very least. We have only been getting about 2200 home fans for the last three Saturday league games I agree 100% getting Leeds is a cracker of a draw but the FA Cup is not what it was and let's face it a lot of local people would rather watch Man Utd etc on TV than come to Spotland (even if we offered free admission for league games) I would be more than happy with 3500 Dale fans and anything above that is a bonus Give Leeds as many tickets as we can let them have. This tie is about getting in as much money as we can whilst we have the chance and occasions like this at home are few and far between. If Leeds fans outnumber us then I've no problem with that - the atmosphere will still be fantatstic As a Sandy Lane season ticket holder I would be quite happy (for this one occasion) to move to the Pearl Street end if the club could make more money by putting Leeds fans in the Sandy as well

Think you mean Ray Crawford.

Afternoon boys, you should be well pleased with the draw. We could have filled the ground for you on our own. Took 9500 to Scum a few years back and the same number to the Ar5e, the latter we could have filled half their ground their was such a request for tickets, we may have been out of the limelight for the last 12 seasons, but the core fan base is still there, watch out for 3500 mentallists heading to the Spotland.
As for the current Leeds team, we are just beginning to see the first signs of stablisation and 'green shoots', Mowatt, Byram, are two youngsters to watch out for Mac is on fire and Ruddy will run through a brick wall for ya. Add to that the Ukranian Zakurius ( sp) and Pearce at the heart of the defence and also the ever dependable Paddy Kenny and we have the nucleus of a very good Championship side.
Leeds are in the midst of another take over with what sounds like the injection of some serious cash, no way do we want the billions that Citeh have, but it would be nice to get back to where we belong and use home grown talent with a smattering of young purchased talent. Imho it won't be long before we will be knocking on the door of the top 6 in the EPL
Anyways if you want a natter and some banter feel free to have a look in at Sudden Elite, you will have to join, not a large forum but you will be welcomed as long as you come in peace and are sensible.

Leeds are on the same level as the two Sheffield clubs and to suggest you are premiership quality is laughable really. I have to pass Elland Rd every week working in Leeds and the ground needs knocking down. You talk about three and a half thousand mentalists and then invite people to join your miniature forum but to come in peace and be sensible, what a contradiction!! I don't think I will bother, you need to smell the roses and stop acting all Billy big balls because let's face it living in Greater Manchester I think we can recognise big Premiership football clubs when we see them and Leeds and their infrastructure are not Premiership, sorry!!

Seth, love. Even the fellas call each other "love" in Leeds, can't get used to that one!!
My works Leeds depot is actually on Elland Road and its amazing how many people I've spoken to whilst working over there actually despise Leeds Utd. You would think that a one club city of that size would see the whole City pulling together just as Newcastle seems to do.

I don't have a axe to grind with Leeds as a football club but come on for God's sake, they are living in the past. I wasn't being vindictive when I mentioned the state of their ground and its surroundings, it's stuck in the dark ages. Being a Premiership club starts with the infrastructure and Elland Rd doesn't even compare with a lot of Championship grounds. Granted they have a good fan base but don't let this Leeds poster try to make out that all Leeds fans are knuckledraggers because they aren't, the majority are decent fans and him terming them all mentalists is a insult to his own supporters.

I was born after Revie's 'dirty Leeds' were doing their stuff so don't get why they still have all this hatred aimed at them, I actually applaud them for their league title win in 1992 meaning Fergie's bankrolled title success had to wait for another year.
O'Leary's 'babies' were a fair side to watch also, not that they could afford them though like.
