I remember standing outside LR in about 1993. I think I was there just to watch the players leave. Anyway near the end Macca came out and what I remember most was his accent. Hearing a hero like that talking 20 yards away in the same way I did, miles away from home still as a fairly young lad, it just put that extra bit of glue between me and the club.
4 years ago I accidentally threw away the program he'd signed (separate occasion) - into a County Antrim skip. I try not to think about that. |  | | |

Don't know about 'finest', 'greatest' or 'best' in terms of adjectives to apply to Alan McDonald with regards to his position or performances. Howell started his professional career with Fulham in 1978, but failed to reach the first team.[1] He then moved on to various non-league clubs, including Harrow Borough (whom he helped win the 1984 Isthmian League Premier Division Championship), Hounslow Town, Hillingdon Borough and Enfield.
