Mackie signed for Forest on 22:18 - Jul 25 by YorkRanger
I like Mackie and am sad he is going.
In terms of the right sort I wonder whether, given his obvious friendship with Barton, that he is not the whiter than white guy we all like to think he is?
Been thinking the same thing, long suspected there is more to jamie than meets the eye when in the changing room environment

Mackie. Useless anyway. Never seen a slower forward player since gary penrice.
Yeah i thought he was so slow when he got behind the scouse defence and scored that last minute winner. So slow when he latched on to Edgar Davids backpass and set up Adel. Fittest player at the club ATAF .
good luck Mackie you will be missed
favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL

First season back in the Premiership he was our second highest goalscorer and was joint second-highest at laying on goals for his teammates, all that with missing the first few months of the season with a broken leg. Not really sure what more people were hoping for to be honest?

when was his contract up with us? That might have had an impact on the fee, does seem cheap and still think he should have waited and seen if anyone else came in for him

1.5 mil is a good fee for us for a player who was never going to play more than a bit part role.
Townsend to replace him seems likely and would represent an improvement for us.
Mackie worked hard but put in as many 5/10 performances as anyone else last season IMO. He also threw enough strops at Adel to show he wasn't always squeaky clean.

Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Mother Teresa would've all got frustrated and had a go at Adel if they'd been around him more than a season!

So as I see it, Mackie is a good championship player and it's a shame to see him go... BUT...I think 1.5 million for a good but not great championship player is fair. We aren't in the premier league anymore and that basically means the value of our players have halfed. Depressing but true.

Not the most skilful we've ever seen, but when we signed him he was a step forward from what we had. Always seemed to give 100% (unlike a lot of the shite over the past few years)
He actually cried when he scored our second goal at Man City (rightly or wrongly)
After watching him for us..........I can only wish him well. Unlike some of the scumbags that have wore our shirt during the past couple of years...........who wouldn't be worth pissing on if they were on fire.
