Well I'll kick it off. Reckon Lehman's appointment was a masterstroke - it will be much closer as a result of his appointment.

Who's going and when?

Bloody ICC. Great run chase from KP, Trott ans Woakes though. The Aussies can't say anything about Old Trafford now at least.

That is a f---king disgrace.how can the umpires decide that the game is a draw?why shud the Aussies be allowed to badger the umpires into declaring them into going off?f-- king fuming.

Stop whinging. The umpires called bad light when the meter gave the same reading as England got when they were forced in to bat Thursday evening, and were very happy to go off.

I paid good money to watch the cricket yesterday and I felt entitled to have a moan when the game should have been played to a conclusion. It wasn't dangerous or really bad light, and the floodlights were on.
Also I'd had a fair amount of booze inside me last night, and I've calmed down a bit,but the rules should be changed to allow the game to reach a finish where possible.
Fair play to Clarke though for trying to set up a game, but once he'd done it,he shouldn't then go moaning to the umpires when it looked like they were going to lose it.

of course we would do the same..
all part of the psychological warfare of Test Match cricket..
like Broad taking off his boot to waste a few minutes in the last Test..
send a thief to catch a thief..
The Ashes is the ultimate sporting contest and we have got the convicts bang to rights..
roll on November 21 in Brisbane

Indeed. I shall be there for all 5 tests. Come on the England

So a great day yesterday/this morning. Is Carberry going to be the surprise man on the tour? Watson struggling with a hamstring injury too, can't wait to give 'em a hammering.

Anyone know any pubs showing the tests through the night?

The Walkabout on The Green which in the past has shown it in the early hours is closed down or about to be closed down & set to be something else, innit?

I haven't watched nearly enough of The Ashes home or away in the last 8 years since Channel 4 provided marvellous coverage of the legendary epic best-ever 2005 Ashes and then the ECB sold the game to Rupert for the long term.

Anyone know if there will be hour long highlights on Channel 5 ? Uckin better be.

Not looking that promising according to this thread:

Yeah, only Walkabout still open that I know about is the one at Temple. If anyone finds one and can let me know it would be appreciated!

From the Aussietimes

"The closure of the Shepherd’s Bush branch leaves one remaining Walkabout serving the Australian community in London at Temple.

It has been a tough year for the old-guard of the Aussie and Kiwi community in London, with the original London Walkabout bar in Covent Garden serving last drinks in March, followed by the closure of the much loved Australia Shop in April and then TNT Magazine being put under financial administration earlier this month"

Boll ocks spit count arse spit fook!

Simon Hughes ex Middlesex, Off Askew Rd dwelling, Cricket Analyst has just confirmed by tweet that there will be no Free-To-Air Ashes highlights package 2013/14.

ECB Sold The Game's Soul,Future and Mass Appeal To Rupert Since 2005!

Tobopoly,I have never found it feasible to watch cricket live in a boozer - you want to watch at least half a days (4hrs) play to get the proper flavour - the pints & shekels build up..not really a runner for me. *sigh*

I've probably tried free live streams via India or whatever in the past but from the little I suspect I remember there is the perennial problem of freezing.

Yeah just last I went past, I used to love the 'snakebites' in there in about 1995.

Went proper shit though.

I quite fancy Simon Hughes sister the History Nigella. She's starting to look a bit old now though.

This stream has always been pretty reliable.

It's a lot better than the shitty ones I used to try to watch QPR away games last season, anyway.

If I watch a stream I will be asleep just after the toss (oo-er missus). In a pub I was hoping to at least get to the third session, had a chat to a local Aussie landlord last night and he seemed ameniable to the idea, but that could of just been to shut me up
