converting / digitising old QPR videos 23:45 - Nov 26 with 6362 views | PeterHucker | I've got a load of old QPR videos, season highlights and stuff going back to the late 80s. But I've got no VHS player to play them on. Is there anyone out there who has the facility to convert these files to digital and burn them on to a DVD for me?
converting / digitising old QPR videos on 21:17 - Nov 28 with 5615 views | PeterHucker | that looks like it would do it but I wasn't planning on spending a load of money to get it done. I was more thinkng that there might be some QPR fan on here who had access to the sort of equipment that could do it?? Anyone out there?

I have the equipment but would not be interested in sitting there spending hours converting someone else's VHS tapes at any price. I think you'll find it difficult to find anyone willing to do this....but you never know.

If those tapes haven't been worn out yet, then they probably are not worth it.

converting / digitising old QPR videos on 07:17 - Nov 29 with 5476 views | Toast_R | I have access to a vhs/dvd player and it is meant to be able to perform this copying but the one time I did try this with a football video, it didn't work as due to copyright protection. I'm not sure how to get round this to be honest or how it knows a real video from a blank tape. I tried covering the tab on the video etc but this didn't make any difference. The player knew it was an illegal action.
converting / digitising old QPR videos on 07:29 - Nov 29 with 5472 views | Toast_R | I've just googled my issue. Seems I'm f@cked with what I have in a DVD VHS combo machine. You need a separate VHS player and DVD recorder so you can intwine a stabliser to knock out thecopyright signal which is embedded in the tape. Bladdy hell, seems 80's technology wasn't quite so crude. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

£20 per dvd ! I've got the same problem, with about 12 tapes of the early to mid 80's of all the goals every week, 2 Milk cup semis (taped Starsky & Hutch over the final ), FA cup Final and replay with all the chat. Think I'll live without them at that price !

The only disgusting filth on my videos is where Chelscum happen to be the opponents. BTW, it is possible to buy a device which gets rid of the anti copying code embedded in the VHS. I do not believe that converting your own VHSs to DVDs is immoral and probably isn't illegal either if you only do it once for each VHS. You have bought the right to watch the content so changing the format is not actually piracy in my view.

converting / digitising old QPR videos on 10:31 - Nov 29 with 5403 views | RickyDicky | My company www.edm-solutions.co.uk Deals with mainly high volume conversion of paper to a digital format , but we do also handle film (8mm), vhs conversion, 35mm slides , pretty much all types. £20 is not bad to convert a VHS to DVD. We do use the PC method aswell if the customer wants editing , captions, music etc, but price increases significantly You can buy a VHS data capture/editing system from E-bay for less than £15 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-VHS-To-DVD-Converter and a DVD writer for £15. Hope this helps.

converting / digitising old QPR videos on 14:49 - Nov 29 with 5336 views | WokingR | I have just dealt with www.ontodvd.com who have advised me that copyright is not a problem as you are allowed to make a single copy as a backup. I am getting them to do transfer some of my daughters old favourite VHS's onto DVD and they seem quite reasonable. Postage is high but they then charge per hour of VHS that needs converting.

Given this topic seems to have been posted in 2012, there is a reasonable chance he doesn't need to use your company by now!
