There is a QPR v Arsenal game that lives in infamy in my house.
So here's the deal: My girlfirend (she's now my wife, although god knows) was arriving in England at Heathrow from Peru in December around noon on a Saturday. So its summer in Peru and winter in London. I am really excited that she is coming and so as a special trreat to her, I buy us tickets to the QPR/ Arsenal game at Highbury. Because I really want to impress her, I decide to get tickets on the terraces -- no crappy sitting, she'll love it my dozy brain tells me!! It was around 1987 and Arse were known as draw specialists back then, giving a whole new meaning to the terms snooze-fest. But for me, it was a London derby, terraces, crowds, everything I love. So I pick her up from the airport and she is wearing a miniskirt and a denim jacket (coz it was summer when she got on the plane) and we rush over to Highbury getting there just in time. I'm all chuffed and I think that she will be too. So we are standing on the terraces, its snowing, she is completley exhausted having flown for 14 hours (or something like that), its cold, people keep pushing her over, the game is hideously boring and ends in a 0-0 draw. I love it and she nearly killed me!!! We still laugh about it to this day (we were just talking it about earlier this week) as a classic example of what idiots blokes are. I've told her, its not all blokes that would be that stupid, its just me (but the truth is it probably is all bloke -- we can't help it we were built for mamoth hunting!!)

The 2-0 cup game in the pissing rain where Kenny Sansom scored the winner on a Tuesday night.
One of my favourite games of all time that
for me at highbury, about 84..we'd come up and won 2-0 gregory and ian steward curled in a beaut also a ruck in the north bank with some qpr in there...
2nd choice, the cup win when kenny sansom buried a cracker....2-0 win, and adams on his butt, slipping like a drunk donkey.

One of my favourite games of all time that
This as well. Cracking atmosphere. Lost all the skin on my shins. Had to stand in the pi55ing rain waiting for the RAC because I'd locked my keys in the car. But what a night!
My favourite Rs/Arsenal game was my first ever game.
1975/76 season, Easter Monday 19th April 1976, 30000 packed into LR. Arsenal take the lead through Brian Kidd and hold it until about 5 minutes to go. McLintock equalises and then in the last minute Stan falls over in the area and Gerry nervelessly slots the penalty to keep our title hopes alive until the final weekend.
The 1990 Cup replay at LR is a close second though.
The 2-0. Nil In the rain was good, but we also done them In the league the same season, Wilkins with a daisy cutter And wegerle running them silly, what a team we had then ! Could & should have won the fa cup that year as well
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Yep, I think the best two are the first win at Highbury, and the Cup Replay win.
As a 19 yr old in Feb '84, I was telling my mates about Ian Stewart''s curler past Pat Jennings that day, this was in The Packhorse and Talbot in Chiswick that night, when mid description Ian walked in, so I left it to him to describe............

God bless you for posting that footage CamberleyRs. Takes me back...
Few things that really stick out:
- Not a single dive or any pathetic drama in the whole 30 minutes of highlights. On a wet pitch in a London derby there's a good 4/5 tackles going in in that game that would keep the Alan Greens / Sky fans of today going on about 'contact' and 'intent' forever. Nobody batted an eyelid. I miss honesty in the game - Parker playing with no shin pads and his socks rolled around his ankles, forgot about that. What a player he was - Wegerle was the Adel of the day. - Sinton was f--kin brilliant - Why was the Ellerslie wing like a ploughed field for about 10 years after we ditched the plastic? - And the cup really meant something back then

Yeah you are so right! In today's non-contact game for whining overpaid tossers Bould would have been booked after about 5 seconds then sent off after about 20 mins and the Groves' challenge on Seaman would have resulted in Seaman rolling around, a huge pushing match with players demanding a red card and endless talk about how challenges like that have no place in the game.
See the small and basic advertising hoarding saying "Live soccer on Sky", it's like a spectre hanging there predicting the dark future where the FA and the clubs exchanged the soul of the game for large bags of cash.

Anyone remember the game at highbury in 88 we spent the Whole ninety mins, abusing Adams with the donkey chants , Falco with a scuffed effort que mass celebrations inthe clock end Then typical rangers we let adams score twice in the last minutes,
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot

The 2-0 win at Highbury in 84 has to be up there. As has been mentioned it kicked off in the North Bank and a number (maybe 20 or so) QPR were pulled out of there. Instead of being thrown out the Sergio Tachini wearing hoolies were marched down to the away end where they were greeted by generous applause and cheering as they joined us. I remember being shocked at how such a small number caused what seemed like quite a lot of panic in the home end.
However the rain soaked FA cup win was one of the best ever nights at Loftus Rd. Was absolutely chucking it down when Sansom hit the first goal. We were then under siege until we broke away and scored at the end. Great night and superb atmosphere. Tony Adams was dodging carrots any time he came near the Loft. Arsenal were also a much better side on this occasion than they were in 84.
Worth mentioning we had 11,000 at Highbury for the first game that ended 0-0, Paul Parker missing a great headed chance to win it near the end.
