Can this be done? My main sky box is not connected to a telephone line (although i do have one) and im after mulitroom in the conservatory which doesnt have a phone socket nor do i want one putting in.

When I was with sky the bills started going mental and they seemed to be taking what ever they wanted from my bank. When I realised they had taken over
300 quid from my account they said it was because the phone line was not connected in one of the bedrooms and that they had written to me repeatedly. (a lie) It took me weeks of fighting and arguing to get the money back and even then it was in the form of credit but one thing they kept banging on about was this phone line not being plugged in. |  | | |

Just had multiroom put in.
Part of the agreement is to have the phone line connected to all boxes for 12 months. I just ran a long extension lead to one but as soon as the guy left I disconnected it and have not had any complaints from Sky yet. |  | | |

We have Sky in the front room downstairs and I have another box with multiroom in my room where there is no phone line. I think the phone line only had to be connected for services like Anytime and ordering from sky store (box office basically)
I may be getting it mixed up but the HD box in my room is just a wire through the wall to the dish and nothing else |  |

You can just run a long cable while the guy is there so he can make the call back required to activate the card or you can just buy wireless telephone extensions so you can have an extension anywhere there's a plug socket.

As Calder said, if you have multi room deal with them you need to have your phone line connected to both boxes else they will charge you for two separate Sky Packages.
My Dad had the same problem with them even though he paid them for the installation and they connected all the phone lines for him. It was alright for a year but then he kept getting the letters saying one box was disconnected with a list of steps to test it. Turned out it was a dodgey jack connector on the phone line in the box.
Just moved to a new house this week, gone with virgin. Lot less hassles decent wifi modem for multi devices and the tv don't lose the signal in bad weather. |  | | |

i've taken my 2nd box to France and no letters or extra charges from Sky but the 2nd tv in London now only lets me play what is playing on the tv with the sky box. Any ideas as to how I can receive any station on my other tv? | | | |
