As you've said before, Nick, the closure of the Kingsland puts a lot of people off.
When the price of tickets is the same for the whole stadium, people prefer to sit in what are usually the more expensive seats at the side. The completely empty stand facing the majority of the crowd, who'll be packed into the Itchen, also puts a bit of a damper on the atmosphere. |  |

The Itchen is sold out. If they opened the 5 blocks at the centre of the Kingsland, they'd sell out too. A lot of floating fans see FA Cup games as an opportunity to get value for money with a seat near the halfway line. They don't want to be in what are normally the cheap sections behind the goals. The clueless person who decides to keep the Kingsland closed for cup games is reducing the gate by several thousands. [Post edited 4 Feb 10:33]

I got 5 tickets today .
Im too anksy to use the stupid app for tickets so went to the stadium in the new little ticket office to pick up paper tickets .
Whilst leaving with tickets in my pocket i bumped into Tall Paul and Kalmaldean Sulamana (sorry spelling) ..they were happy to take the time to chat ..to have photos done with me and were thoroughly decent blokes with no arrogance whatsoever.
