Good luck on Friday and if you find any pieces of my house, hold on to them for me.

Yep, it's going to be wild. Winds of 75mph (not gusts, the underlying windspeed) are being forecast for the West of Ireland, where a Red Weather Warning event has already been called.

Time to secure the trampolines again.

100mph gusts in South Kerry. I don’t remember seeing any higher. Here’s hoping it’s not that bad.

If we're going to name storms, let's choose a name that most people can pronounce.

Slightly downgraded for Kerry to 90mph gusts, seemingly raised for everyone else.

That is classified as a Categorie 1 hurricane and is pretty serious with falling debris, power lines and a real danger to livestock sadly. Any mobile homes close to the ocean should be abandoned in favour of brick and block buildings which should withstand this wind.Of course the gusts are very dangerous and unpredictable .
Stay safe everybody and we can all meet here saturday morning for the match thread

"you fool no man can kill me " then she produces that flaming red hair and mentions " I am no man " as she kills the metal dude after beheading the dragon now that was a scene .
Lets pray for no flying cows in Ireland next 48 hours its like a tornado without the opressive heat build up .

The rule seems to be that storms get to be named named by whatever country they hit first.

Presumably this one comes to us via Middle Earth.

Just as an update, it is being reported that 715,000 homes are without power this morning in ROI. To put that in context, there are 2.1m homes in the country.

I'm reminded of that line from Hill Street Blues, let's be careful out there!

My second cousin's funeral was postponed today due to the weather in Co. Antrim.

If that's not inconveniencing I don't know what is.
