William speculation unhelpful says Coleman on 13:32 - Jan 4 with 593 views | QJumpingJack | Moving back to the original post. Is it a bit naive for Coleman to say that speculation is "unhelpful"? Speculation and rumour are part and parcel of football. If we go on a winning run, then AC is going to have to get use to the speculation as Luke will be linked with bigger jobs (bigger than West Brom).

Yep, it's part and parcel of the game, we're not the biggest fish in the pond so will always lose managers to bigger clubs. But there is a way a manager should conduct himself to his employers and fans he represents.

William speculation unhelpful says Coleman on 09:01 - Jan 4 by andrew | Probably the worst and most inaccurate post I have ever seen on here. |
Why? Please explain why, counter his points because from where I'm sitting it looks pretty close. Cooper did rely on a couple of U17's (from when he was then U17 coach wasn't it? Some do seem to want Martin back which, in my opinion would be a very bad move as we have an even weaker squad now than when he was here. Duff didn't work out. Why is that wrong and inaccurate?

Just picking up on your point about some fans wanting Martin back??? Why oh why??? He's proven to be totally self obsessed, and a one trick pony. He either refused or couldn't change his tactical style to give Southampton the best chance of survival. That's the footballing issue. Add in how he left, and made us pursue him and his new employers through the legal system to get the right level of compensation. No thank you. He can save his incredibly boring football for another mug of a club and use them as a stepping stone for the next team which falls foul of his "attractive style of play" or "process".

If we go on a winning run Williams will go to the first club that offer him a job. Providing the pay is a little bit more.

It's mostly because we have far too many supporters for whom beating Cardiff is their #1 priority. Martin did it four times so they adore him, no matter how poor we usually were in the other 44 games of a league season.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

William speculation unhelpful says Coleman on 21:45 - Jan 3 by Dr_Winston | Cooper's biggest problem is that his football was just dull, and his dependence on England u17 players probably restricted us towards the end of his time. Martin is the biggest Charlatan ever to have managed this club. It staggers me that even now, there are people who would happily have him back as boss. To be honest I'd have second thoughts about employing him to clean the East Stand urinals. Duff was the right idea but poor execution. Things needed a shakeup. A no-nonsense type who would ruffle feathers was needed, but it didn't work out. Committed the Cardinal sin of telling supporters the truth instead of lying to them like most do. Willams has only himself to blame. Doesn't look like he wants to be here. Fairly sure the club would rather he be elsewhere. Sadly nobody else wants him. A bit like Grimes. |
An alternative view: Cooper - got us closer to a return to the big League than any other manager since relegation. A big part of that was due to some of his loan signings. Football under Martin & Williams is as dull as anything under Cooper & Duff was even worse Martin - I don’t know anyone who would want him back even to clean the urinals Duff - his ‘football’ was as dull & uninspiring as his personality. He was never a good fit as demonstrated by his dismissal of the importance of the derby to fans. He sounded like several ex Cardiff managers, not the brightest Williams - continues to be uninspiring & lacking in how he reads the game. The squad he has is weaker in quality & numbers than anytime since pre Martinez days. Grimes is still one of our better players despite being pretty mediocre too often | | | | Login to get fewer ads
