New Year transfer window rumours on 13:20 - Jan 23 by CLAREMAN1995 | Just to quote Kevin Gallen for 3 years in a row we need an out and out striker to see if we can make the playoff push.Somebody with experience and the ability to be in the right spot to finish half chances is a must IMO. Evan Ferguson from Brighton would be perfect |
I'm afraid we couldn't afford Ferguson's big toe!

Surely Eden Vale would be a better bet? Apparently, they have a lot in common with Shaun Dairy

Evan Ferguson is a premier league standard player who strangely, in my opinion, has been treated awfully by Brighton. There will be many premier league suitors looking to either take him on loan or sign him permanently. I take it Kevin Gallen hasn't actually put forward any suggestions, because that's the hard bit. In the absence of this nigh-on mythical, good to go, prolific out-and-out striker who is within ours and many other sides in this league's budget, I'd say that we are progressing nicely: the goals to games ratios of Frey and Kolli are virtually in line with the majority of strikers in this league. New Year transfer window rumours on 11:59 - Jan 23 by dmm | You're probably right but just wait until we lose a couple of games and they'll be those that will insist we should have strengthened the squad in January. |
Well, I'll say it now, dmm. This squad is criminally theadbare, and that's with Morgan, Lloyd and Kolli already added to it from the Development Squad, and (you'd know far better than me on this one) not many more we could add if needs be. Another injury or two, and even Marti would struggle to keep us going. Results are good now, but you don't wait to fix your roof until the Rolling Stones make omelettes with broken eggs, and that's a fact.

New Year transfer window rumours on 17:06 - Jan 23 with 2983 views | R_from_afar | I doubt there is anything in this but I will share it anyway. I reckon he would be out of our price range, from both a budgetary and S & P perspective; there are rumours that Luton have just had an offer for him rejected:

Fair comment, Brian. Yet we have Morrison, Cook, JCS, Andersen and Dembele to return, plus possibly Celar at some point. I take your point about no more Dev squad players to come in this season.

To be fair to Kevin Gallen, he's a scout for Palace and is watching games on the continent most weeks so I'm sure he has a few CF names he could suggest, even some within budget, but he probably saves all that for his boss Dougie Freedman (one of the best recruiters in the country). | | | | Login to get fewer ads

New Year transfer window rumours on 12:08 - Jan 23 by Jimboqpr | If we can get LB in I think that has to be top of the priority list. Otherwise Ashby is coming in there to cover Paal and that's just asking for trouble even though he actually done a half decent job of it earlier in the season when Ken was injured. Definitely agree on any sort of extra pace we can inject in the team on the 'nice to have' list as if Smyth goes down there's not much of that elsewhere other than maybe Lloyd. There's a few rumours surfacing this morning that Sheff Utd might be interested in Jimmy Dunne. Hopefully not true! |
Tell them to put in a bid of £10m+ and we'll think about it. And then reject it. If they come back in the Summer, as a PL club, while we remain Championship then that might be different.

If I could be bothered signing in to the bbc, I would definitely have gone for 'a Jordan Rhodes' type striker. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and the magic has faded a bit, but the January transfer window just doesn't feel like the January transfer window without someone demanding we sign Jordan Rhodes. Sigh.

Completely agree. That central midfield area is very worrying should Field or Varane be out for any length of time. After Colback and Madsen (gulp), there is no one who can play there. The only development player I can think of that could step up maybe is Alfie Tuck, but he is very slight.

If it came to it, Aoraha would be ahead of Tuck. He's 3 years older, has the required physicality and has been on the bench a few times. That said, longer term Tuck may prove to be the better player.

Aoraha is 22yo and on loan at Ebbesfleet who are bottom of the National League. Worse, Todd Kane is in that team as well. As Nourry said, if you're 17/18yo and not around the 1st team you're not going to make it at QPR.

Tuck was at Enfield in the Southern League Division One Central a few weeks ago which is several levels below the National League. Nourry's plan, if it is a plan, is going to take time to work through. He said himself, it's an ambition. Aoraha has been around the 1st team as has Tuck.
New Year transfer window rumours on 11:56 - Jan 25 with 950 views | Stainrod | So many unrealistic demands, particularly in that BBC article. A left back would be nice but am sure we can muddle thru without. Sadly we blew our budget on Madsen and Cellar and very much doubt there is money. As such any incoming for the first team would most likely be a loan, and limiting first team opportunities for the likes of Kolli, Alfie and Morgan would be self-harming with very little likely upside.

I will die on the hill marked "we should be using take me home, to loftus road, to the place where I belong as our anthem". It's so easy, and catchy (unlike the game of the hill)
